This Pauatahanui estuary is an excellent area for board sailing, dinghy sailing, water skiing, and swimming.
The Mana Cruising Club is situated on a protected floating marina, which is home for many keelboats, and power launches of various sizes. The Mana Cruising Club is also a great place for weddings, conferences and functions.
The area boasts excellent fishing, diving and sailing with a public boat-launching ramp within 100 meters of the Motel. For those that like golf, Pauatahanui, and New Judgeford Clubs are within 5 minutes.
There are also several movie theatres, and there is excellent shopping at the close-by, Porirua City complexes.
Several historical trails will keep the walkers occupied and you can eat out at one of the several local restaurants.

We are in easy walking distance to cafes, bars, restaurants and takeaway outlets. Our great local supermarket is just a 3-minute walk down the road. Nearby are also various interior stores and gift shops.

- Te Papa Tongarewa - Museum of New Zealand - more than a museum - explore, engage, enjoy a great family outing.
- Westpac Stadium - our main venue for international sporting events.
- Pataka Museum - one of NZ's leading galleries of Maori, Pacific and NZ contemporary art.
- NZ Police Museum, showcasing the history of policing in NZ, and lots of fun for the kids.
- Te Rauparaha Arena - Porirua's main sporting venue.
- Arena Aquatic Centre - with wave pool, hydro slide, and lazy river. A great family swimming complex.

Our balconies are fabulous to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun set. Feel free to call us when arriving later than expected so we can arrange curtains to be pulled and put heaters on for your arrival. Our location is great with ease of access to Ferry Terminal and Wellington CBD.
