Things to do in our local area:
- Walking tracks, the recently completed Okiato - Russell - Paihia - Opua - Okiato tracks is accessible from Te Wahapu Road, a few hundred meters from the property. It traverses wetland flats, undulating areas of mature native bush, and boardwalks at the water's edge as well as a stunning stretch along the coastline. There are several other walkways of different lengths that are accessible from Russell and within the vicinity.
- Russell historic places, such as Russell museum, NZ's oldest church, NZ's first police station,
- Russell art galleries, photo gallery, pottery, antiques and gift shops as well as a number of different cafes, wineries and restaurants, several on the water's edge from where beautiful sunsets can be observed
- Pompallier House, established by French missionaries, a working museum complete with tannery and working printers
- Cruise around the Bay of Islands to the famous "Hole in the Rock" and for dolphin encounters start from Russell either on yachts, launches or a tall ship
- Coach trips, such as Russell mini tours, trips to the Kauri forests, Cape Reinga and Ninety Mile Beach
- Scenic flights, for the more adventurous parasailing, sky diving
- Waitangi Golf course is a world-class 18 hole golf course just across the water
