Hotel Orient

The Hotel Orient is the earliest surviving, 19th century (1870), hotel in central Brisbane still offering accommodation and is amongst the longest licensed hotels in Brisbane. Despite numerous refurbishments, the hotel retains its 1870’s charm and street scape presence. A “first class” Hotel in the 1870’s, the Orient marks the juncture of the Brisbane Central Business District and Fortitude Valley along a major inner city thoroughfare which is Queen Street, the main street in Brisbane.

The most recent chapter in the Hotel Orient’s ever changing story has seen a breath of new life into all three floors without compromising the heritage feel of the old brick corner block. Today, the Hotel Orient provides casual dining and bar on the first floor, Mexican style dining on the second floor and hotel accommodation on the third. Proudly offering quality service across all three floors, the Orient guarantees a warm welcome coupled with a cold beverage.

The accommodation itself resides peacefully above the Mexican Kitchen Dining Restaurant on the second floor, and bar on the first floor which offers an array of options for you to dine, drink or just watch the world go by.
All guest bedrooms have been renovated within the past year with new bathrooms, flat-screen TV’s, reverse-cycle air conditioning and double beds.

Under brand new management, owner-manager Mark Lassman is no stranger to buffing a diamond out of the rough.
