| Getting There |
By the Sea Port Douglas is perfectly located: 30 seconds walk to the sea and yet just one minute walk to the beautiful shops, cafes and restuarants of Port Douglas. They will organise a coach to pick you up from the air port and take you to their door. If you require this then please E mail them. If you are driving by car, head to the main street of Port Douglas(Macrossan Street), turn right and go down towards the beach and By the Sea Port Douglas resort is the last resort before the beach on the left. | Things To Do |
Port Douglas is the closest and most convenient place from which to experience the outer reef. Low Isles (a delightful tropical island just off the coast) is a also a beautiful place to spend the day and has great reef. The reef of course also offers great fishing as well. There are so many other things to do while you are here, it is hard to list them all (but we will give it a try.............) World Heritage Rainforest just 40 mins away World famous Daintree River just 40 mins away Beautiful Mossman Gorge just 20 minutes away Crocodile farms and croc spotting tours Join Aboriginals just 20 mins away and catch shell fish with them Learn to paint Aboringal style Natural Habitat Park Ballooning Kite Surfing Cane toad racing ? River Cruises Sports fishing Micro Light hand gliding Helicopter trips (including to the reef) Visits to Cooktown Visits to Kuranda Sky rail Walks and hikes Jungle Surfing Shopping and most importantly of all: Doing what the local do best, relaxing in the laid back tropical atmosphere of Port Douglas and enjoying their lovely restaurants and cafes. |
