Rakiura Lodge offers high quality and comfortable self-catering accomodation for up to 8 people. There are two wings with a common kitchen/dining/lounge between. This layout caters well for families, a small corporate group, or a group of friends wishing to use the whole lodge. It has been successfully used as the base for a wedding party.

Rakiura Lodge makes an ideal base for exploring the beauty and enjoying the many activities of Stewart Island including New Zealand's newest National Park. The onsite manager loves to assist with links to water taxis, fishing trips, eco trips, bird watching - pelagic and native birds, tramping, sea kayaking, diving, hunting as she has a conservation background and is well versed in what Stewart Island has to offer.

Getting There	Plane or ferry to Stewart Island. Courtesy pickup available at Stewart Island terminals. Transit assistance can be given in Invercargill to meet your island connection. Rakiura Lodge is a really handy 2 minute walk from the town centre.
Parking	Cars can be hired if needed although we are so handy to everything not a lot of people find them necessary.
Things To Do	Charters, water taxis, fishing trips, eco trips, bird watching - pelagic and native birds, tramping, easy bush walks, sea kayaking, diving, hunting. A quiet, tranquil time, soaking up the beauty of nature. There are many beaches, coves and small islands to explore.
