If you are driving, follow the brown tourist sign to the Town Centre, and turn directly into Bank St from the Princes Highway. The Ashmont is the Best Western Motor Inn located on the right hand side at No. 47. Trains run from Melbourne to Warrnambool with a bus connection to Port Fairy. The Ashmont is a 3 minute walk, west down Bank St. |

| Things To Do |
Port Fairy is a charming village with strong connections to our Irish heritage with over 50 buildings classified by the National Trust. The wharf is like a picture postcard, with a working fishing fleet and leisure yachts. There is a thriving artistic and musical community, with small galleries, antique stores, book and specialty shops to browse through. There is a fantastic selection of very fine restaurants, pubs and cafes – much more than you would imagine. The Port Fairy Day Spa is directly opposite The Ashmont. A magnificent Golf links course, skirting the Southern Ocean is a 5 minute drive away. Safe, sheltered beaches and quiet rock pools to rugged ocean coastline – Port Fairy has it all. Beautiful in the summer and some say, even more beautiful in the winter, when you can rug up and walk for miles. Snorkelling gear can be hired, and surfing lessons are available in the summer. Throughout the year there is a variety of events and festivals, where you will also find information re the many attractions in Port Fairy and the surrounding area. |
