| Getting There |
Directions from Nelson Airport: follow State Highway 6 (SH6) towards Richmond/Takaka/Collingwood. Keep straight ahead, bypassing Richmond town centre and turn right on SH60, the Appleby Highway, towards Motueka/Takaka/Collingwood. Pass through Motueka and then the small township of Riwaka and on past the two turnings on the right going to Abel Tasman National Park (Kaiteriteri & Marahau). After a further 2km, at the foot of the Takaka Hill, take the small turning on the left down Riwaka Valley Road (sign-posted with a blue bed LODGE sign and a brown sign to Riwaka Resurgence & Kahurangi National Park). Follow this road straight-ahead (north/right branch) for 5.7km until you see the sign for the lodge on the right (just after a deer farm and then the road narrows sign). |

Abel Tasman (Marahau 20 minutes, Kaiteriteri 15 minutes) - kayaking, walking, sailing, seal & bird watching, beaches. Riwaka Valley (2 minutes) - bush walks, picnics, trout fishing & winery. Kahurangi National Park (adjacent) - walking, eco-tours, horse treks, white-water rafting, caves, trout fishing. Motueka area (20 minutes) - wineries, golf, beaches & estuaries, Sunday market, artists, cycling, scenic flights & scenic drives through 'Little Provence' fruit, olive & wine growing areas. Golden Bay (60 minutes) - Farewell Spit walks & eco-tours, Pupu Springs, artists, cafés & beaches. Nelson (50 minutes) - airport, WOW, Saturday market, cafés & artists. |
