Opened in 1993, the Catalonia Barcelona Plaza Hotel is ideally located in the Plaza España, the best professional area of Barcelona. With La Fira de Barcelona and Palau de Congressos de Barcelona only a short distance away, it is an ideal hotel for business and leisure clients as it has good travel connections with the main tourist areas and city centre. You will find the famous Montjuich mountain within walking distance together with the singular Poble Espanyol and Palau Nacional which houses the National Art Museum of Catalonia. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel to take you directly to El Prat airport. The hotel is managed by a great team of professionals dedicated to your well-being and has plenty of facilities. Consisting of 347 rooms, 9 of which are suites, they are well equipped with all the comfort that a superior class hotel has to offer: en suite bathroom with hairdryer, direct phone, work desk, TV satellite with Pay Movies Channels, minibar, WIFI, heating/air conditioning, safe box, smoke detector, soundproofed windows, radio. The access to the hotel is very easy as it is only 1 km from Sants-Estació main train station of the city and 50 m from the nearest underground stop (Plaza Espana). City centre is just 2 km far, well connected by bus or metro. Arriving from airport: Taxi 15 minutes. Approximately 20 Euros. Aero bus: 30 minutes. Approximately 3.6 Euros. Private car: 20 minutes by Autovia C-31 that connects directly to Barcelona city. You can get Gran Via or Avenida Diagonal, both accesses are the most direct to city centre. |

| Things To Do |
If you only have 2 hours free, it will be enough for you to do some shopping or sightseeing. Right next to the hotel you will find Creu Coberta Street. This street has plenty of shops, particularly clothing and shoe shops. If you just feel like taking a walk, you can go from the trade fair on up to the Mies Van der Rohe pavilion. It is worth going up the steps to the National Palace to enjoy the exceptional view of the city. Many of these buildings were built to hold the 1929 World Fair. The singular Poble Espanyol, Olympic Stadium and Palau St Jordi are also short distance from hotel. |
