Windsor Lodge covers most accommodation options from Camping to self-contained cabins. The Lodge was established in 1958 and mixes old-world charm with modern touches. Located just 10 minutes south of Taupo town centre, you are out of the bright lights and adjacent to both Lake and River.

The Lodge has 8 self-contained cabins, each two-bedroom ideally for families. Main bedroom is queen and second is either 2 singles or 3 singles. All linen is supplied and kitchen is fully equipped. For the family wishing to really relax, we deliver evening meals to your cabin or invite you to the courtyard for a BBQ. Groups are the Lodge's specialty and full catering, activities and evenings are planned.

There is a Dairy/Post Centre on site with all essentials and an extensive range of fly fishing tackle. Once here, most activities can be arranged and transport door to door by the operators.

Fishing wise, Guiding can be arranged as well as all you need to get you started. All options are within walking distance and all you have to do is Park up and bring home dinner. We will cook your trout for you or smoke it to take on your journey.

Check In Instructions	Early and late check-outs by arrangements. Arrivals no later than 9.30pm in Lodge. Park is closed for arrivals after dark as many guests leave early for Activities.

Getting There	Our Location and the River From Auckland way.... It is easy to find us. Once you arrive in Taupo, follow the main road around Lake Taupo, called Lake Terrace, as if you are leaving town (if you need supermarket supplies, it might be easier to call in and get those first). Once you leave town, the same road turns back into State Highway 1. Five minutes out of town you will come across the airport sign. Another five minutes down the road and you will come into a 70kph area, this is the beginning of the Waitahanui Township. Go another minute down the road and you will go over a small bridge, where men are normally fly fishing. We are approximately 500 metres on the left hand side once you go over the bridge. You will see a big black and white sign with our Fisherman on it. When you arrive you will need to turn left into Hurae Road as our Reception is situated on the corner. Just park in the motel driveway and come into the dairy, which is also the reception area, and we will check you in. Hope this makes sense! From Wellington way..... To find us driving north there are a few landmarks to look for. Once you arrive in Turangi, we are approximately another thirty minutes drive on State Highway 1. Just keep following the road to Taupo around Lake Taupo going through the little townships of Motuoapa and Motutere. Once you start driving through Hatepe, you are approximately ten minutes away. You will start going into a forestry area and you will also start climbing up a hill. Once you come back down the hill, you will come into a 70kph area, this is the beginning of our Waitahanui Township. We are approximately a minute up the road from that sign, on the right hand side. You will see the local cemetery (on the left), we are exactly opposite it. You will also see a big black and white sign with our Fisherman on it. You will need to turn right in Hurae Road as we are on the corner of State Highway 1 and Hurae Road. Then you will see our Reception driveway, just park in there and come into our dairy which is also our reception area and we will check you in. We hope this all makes sense too.
Parking	Each cabin has undercover parking at its door and extra parking can be arranged. Campervan sites are spacious, well grassed and quiet.
Things To Do	Centrally located, The Lodge has access to all of Taupo's attractions and those further afield. Most adventure operators will collect you from the Lodge and return you afterwards. We recommend white water rafting, kayaking, hiking and skiing amongst the many options available. Fishing is our specialty and with easy access to the rivers your visit can be a great experience. Guiding is arranged, waders are complimentary for a 2 night stay, and an extensive range of flies and accessories are available in the Dairy/reception.
