Step into your ofuro (hot tub) overlooking your very own Japanese garden. Soaking and submerged to the chin, it is a time for relaxation and sensual pleasures. Japanese Mountain Retreat is situated on 5 secluded acres of natural forest 45 minutes from Melbourne in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. Spa Treatments Japanese Mountain Retreat is delighted to be the only retreat is Australia offering unique Japanese and Hammam rituals from Red Flower. Red Flower Japan Ritual & Massage 1.5 hours Based upon a traditional Japanese bathing ritual from the Kamkura era. The skin is purified with Yuzu Mimosa Sea Algae, deeply scrubbed with Ohana Ginger grass bamboo, polished with Wild cherry Blossom Rice and hydrated with Rose, Camelia and Plum oils, leaving the skin softened and energised. Finished with a relaxing massage using Kinmoxei Wild Lime Silk Oil, the whole body is energised and restored. Red Flower Hammam Ritual & Massage 1.5 hours Based on the skin care practices of the Hammam bath house, this six step massage ritual begins with cleansing with Moroccan mint tea and silt, scrubbed with coffee, olive stones and lemons, then rich rhassoul clay is painted on your skin drawing impurities out of the body. Finish with a warming massage using the curative esswences of cardamom, jasmine, bergamot, amber and clove oil, finished with a layer of tangering fig butter.
