DRIVING From the north - continue past the airport turn off, past the golf club (on your right), over the bridge and straight ahead. Next main road is Mangorei Rd - turn right, and next left into Devon St (New Plymouth's main street). The Devon Hotel is 200 metres on you left. From the south - continue straight ahead past the racecourse (on your left), and down the hill to turn right at Devon St (the main street). The Devon Hotel is about 400 metres on your right. |

| Things To Do |
From the slopes of Mt Taranaki to the shores of the Tasman Sea there is so much to see and do, with The Devon Hotel right in the middle of all the activities. Ski the slopes in the morning and surf some of the most consistent surf breaks in the world in the afternoon... Check out some of New Zealand's most magnificent parks and gardens (the world renowned Pukeiti Rhododendron Park, or Pukekura Park), the museum and Govett Brewster Art Gallery (home of Len Lye's kinetic sculptures), Tawhiti museum... Then there are the wine and beer tasting trails... Or check out Maori culture in all its finery with a tour of the local maraes, and a traditional hangi and entertainment. As for event centre's - they're all here - the action of Rugby Park (to 25,000 persons), the magistry of The Bowl of Brooklands (to 15,000 persons), Pukekura Oval (to 5,000 persons), the Showplace (from 20 to 1000 persons), or the Stadium (5,000 persons). Sports facilities abound... It's all here in New Plymouth !!!! |
