| Getting There |
Pauanui is just under 2 hours driving time from Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga. DRIVING FROM AUCKLAND & NORTH: take State Highway (SH) 1 on the Southern Motorway to Bombay, turn left onto SH2 and follow the signs towards Thames via SH25. Just after crossing on a long, traffic-light-controlled one way bridge, you reach Kopu. At the T junction turn right following the signs to Tairua. 800 metres past Kopu turn left on SH25A. Some 32km later at Hikuai, is the first sign for Pauanui where you turn right off SH25 and you are now 11km from Pauanui which is at the end of this road. Entering Pauanui there is a roundabout with Pauanui Waterways on the left. Pass straight through this roundabout until you reach the next roundabout. Take the first exit left into Vista Paku. Pauanui Pines Motor Lodge is 750 metres on the left at 174 Vista Paku. FROM ROTORUA & SOUTH: Leave Rotorua on SH33 through Te Puke, Mt Maunganui/Tauranga, Waihi, Whangamata and follow signs towards Tairua. Turn right to Pauanui at Hikuai as detailed above. |

Pauanui is located in a peaceful setting with the Coromandel ranges forming a scenic backdrop and surrounded by the brilliant blue water of the Tairua estuary and the Pacific Ocean. The "Lakes" 9 hole golf course is adjacent to the motor lodge and a full size, floodlit, astro-turf tennis court & swimming pool are 'on site'. Temporary membership is available at the Pauanui Sports & Recreation Club to enable guests to make full use of the cosy bars and licensed bistro restaurant. Pauanui is the ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula including Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove and Mercury Bay area. Golf - play the newly opened Lakes Resort International course. |
