We have two types of accommodation available: a stunning large rustic raw timber cottage which always amazes our guests with its warmth and style, and our luxurious B&B which is hosted by myself and my husband Uwe. Either accommodation is great. The cottage is self-contained and is provided with a breakfast basket of continental and traditional breakfast ingredients. It is both dog and disabled friendly. It has a fireplace for those cold winter nights, and is air conditioned for those hot ones. The decor is special, and the whole cottage is very comfortable. There are two comfy bedrooms with queen beds, and also a bunk room with a double/single bunk bed. There is a huge commercial kitchen for those folk who love to cook their own meals while on holiday, and home cooked meals are available for those who don't. We have two lovely older dogs, both came to us via shelters. Woofer is a German Shepherd X with a lovely temperament and our self-appointed guard dog is Paddy the minature poodle! The B&B is hosted by us, so we cook breakfast for our guests in the house. We socialise with them (if they wish) and have a few drinks around the bar and share stories. The house and guest rooms are air conditioned, and very pleasant. two of the rooms are ensuited, and two share a large bathroom. We even have a bridal suite, and can provide little luxuries ie champers and choccies if required. We have a solar heated swimming pool available for guests. The property is set on 8 acres. We have lots of parrots feeding from our huge bird wheel (looks like a ferris wheel and the birds love it) so you can sit on the verandah with a glass of local wine and watch them feed and fight. Very entertaining. We are set in the heart of the South Burnett wine region, and our area has many award winning wines on offer. We can book you onto a bus tour of the wineries for a great price, or you can self-drive around the 18 or so wineries and cellar doors. | Getting There |
We are just over 2 and a half hours from Brisbane (2 hours from Sunshine Coast). Turn off the Bruce Highway at Caboolture, follow the Kilcoy signs to Kilcoy, then follow the Kingaroy signs to Kingaroy. Once there, follow the Wondai signs. Once in Wondai, turn left at the roundabout, and we are located 1 km on the Bunya Highway heading to Murgon. We are well sign-posted. Coming from Gympie, take the Wide Bay/Kilkivan exit (which is about 10 mins north of Gympie), and follow this to Wondai. |
