Archer House has a fully stocked kitchen and is only two blocks away from two supermarkets. This kitchen is available to all guests to use, whether you wish to cook your own meals or make a coffee.

It has 3 large bedrooms, 2 with ensuite, 1 with private facilities. All rooms have televisions, bathrooms with hair dryers, heated towel rails and toiletries.

Sunny balconies bring you into the delightful English styled gardens. Relax in the private conservatory or one of our two guest lounges. Catch up with friends and family with complementary wireless internet or use our guest computer. Unwind in front of our 42 inch flat screen TV with full access to every sky channel.

Archer House is a category 1 New Zealand Heritage Home, with outstanding historic significance to the West Coast created by lead lighting masterpieces, fireplaces and antique furniture. Relax and enjoy a complementary glass of wine on arrival.

You are only a short stroll to many restaurants and all town amenities including Victoria Square.

It is built in 1890 as “The Home of Westport” for prosperous merchant Robert Taylor. Purchased in 1947 by the Roman Catholic convent and occupied by the Sisters of Mercy until 1981. The Sisters finally sold the home to Paul Archer and over the past three decades he has sympathetically renovated the home enhancing the original futures.
