Shanti Relaxation Retreat is nestled in the bush at the foot of the Great Dividing Range. Come and relax in the bush with creature comforts of home, while having one of the many treatments on offer, massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, Reiki, crystal healing. Weekend workshops are also available in order to help manage your stress levels and improve your wellbeing. Located six minutes from town on 22 acres in a quiet bush setting. Shanti Relaxation Retreat has cabins offering one bedroom self-contained cottage style accommodation that can sleep up to four people. Each unit has full kitchen facilities, separate bathroom, reverse cycle air-conditioning, four burner upright gas stove, microwave oven and fridge. The hall area can be used for recreation or conference facilities. Last remaining town before reaching the Great Dividing Range; within easy range of Briagolong lie; Dargo, the Avon Wilderness, the Mitchell River National Park with its mysterious 'Den of Nargun' and the Alpine National Park. |

| Getting There |
From Melbourne take City Link to Eastern suburbs, then onto the Monash. Follow the A1 freeway to Sale, then onto Stratford, go straight through roundabout at Stratford onto Briagolong. Drive through Briagolong about 2km to the crossroads then turn left at Valencia CK -Briagolong Rd and travel approximately 700m. Turn right into Marathon Rd and travel approx 3.4 km – Shanti Relaxation Retreat will be on your right. Enter at the sign and follow signs down to the office. Highly recommended to follow these directions and not GPS. GPS will send you through a back route that takes a lot longer. |

Weekend workshops are also available in the above areas. Briagolong also offers a variety of activities from the quiet relaxation of a country township to exploring the mountains beyond: bush walking, Briagolong Village Heritage Walk, Red Gum Reserve Walk, gold fossicking, horse riding, trail rides, recreational activities, Peach Flat wetlands and 4WD tracks are available locally.The gently undulating country of the lower region allows for pleasant strolling and bicycle touring while the Freestone Creek and foothills provide excellent hiking and mountain bike experiences. Today good roads and walking tracks provide access to picturesque swimming and picnic areas such as the Quarry Reserve, Blue Pool, McKinnon's Point and the Channels, allowing the visitor to experience the district’s natural beauty and historic past. Detailed maps are available. Try the local cuisine or wineries. Briagolong Hotel offers excellent evening meals while Riverstone Café can cater for breakfast, lunches and group evening bookings. The General store can cater for those little things that you have left behind or else we are close to Maffra, Stratford or Sale townships that offer a larger variety. |
