Things to do and see in Collinsville •Take a historic mining walk around the town, viewing eight murals depicting the early days of mining in the area. •Have a meal at the United Mineworkers Club next door to the motel in Railway Road. The entrance is dominated by a Memorial Statue to miners killed in local mines. •Visit the Coalface Experience - a unique tribute to the mining industry and the men and women who work in it. •Have a fish at the Bowen Weir and along the Bowen River. •Try your hand at fossicking for jasper, perthite crystal and calcite. A fossicker's licence is required. |
