Tophouse Homestead is a category "A" listed building. There are six rooms in the Homestead and four self contained chalets with mountain views that sleep five per chalet. We are located in the Nelson Lakes region near the Village of St.Arnaud and just nine kilometres from beautiful Lake Rotoiti. Staying here is like going back 100 years, but with the convenience of modern day accommodation. Re-telling the history to our guests about the two murders/suicide that happened here is one of the many highlights of this unique experience whilst staying at Tophouse Homestead.Feel the warmth-experience the atmosphere. We cater for corporates,weddings and small family reunions. Our restaurant can cater for up to 25 guests in the main dinning room and can be extended by using a separate room for an extra 10 guests. We are open daily for lunches from 11 am to 5 pm and dinners from 6.00pm onwards, bookings essential. Our typical set evening meal is: Homemade soup with a parsley bun, Wild Pork, Venison or Thar with four seasonal vegetables, hot apple pie and cream, tea or coffee for $45.00 per person. We have an extensive lunch menu and are famous for our Devonshire tea's. Our Smallest Bar in NZ is stocked with many local wines, beers and soft drinks and has a reputation going back 100 years. We also have a novelty "Hole in One" golf shot with prizes, and a Petanque pitch! Other attractions around the area are hiking, fishing,canoeing, mountain biking, skiing, wine trails or just relaxing at Lake Rotoiti. |

| Getting There |
Nelson and Blenheim airports: Approximately 1 hour drive Village of St Arnaud is 9km away Coming from Nelson, take the turnoff at Belgrove to St Arnaud/Nelson Lakes. Follow the road for 45km and Tophouse Rd is sign-posted on your left. Follow Tophouse Rd for 700mtrs to reach Tophouse Homestead. From Blenheim take the SH63 to Westport. After 90km take the turnoff towards Nelson. Tophouse Homestead is then a 4 km drive to turning from Tophouse Rd on your right hand side. We are 700mts futher up the road. |
