Hawks Nest is situated at the southern end of the Great Lakes area and the northern shore of Nelson Bay. We are approximately 2½ hours north of Sydney and seven minutes off the Pacific Highway.
Our area is a holiday haven, not only for the nature lover but also for families, couples or just that person who wants to get away from it all and enjoy bushwalking, fishing, boating, dolphin watching, seasonal whale watching, surfing and 4x4 beach drives. Hawks nest Caravan Park is situated close to the highway, beach, golf club, shops and restaurants. Our facilities include: spotless modern amenities, a large family BBQ area, children’s play group, sand volleyball court and a kiosk.

All cabins are provided with microwave, TV, fridge, stove, kettle, toaster, crockery, pots, pans and washing up equipment.
Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $10.00. Extra children $7.00. The room caters for a maximum of 4 adults, and a maximum of 3 children but cannot exceed 4 guests in total.

Getting There	Exit the Pacific Highway at Tea Gardens Road. Contine on this road, (it will turn into Myall Street), continue until you reach the end of this road, turn right at the T-intersection onto Mungo Bush Rd, Booner Street is the fourth street on the right.
Parking	One car park is provided per cabin or site.
Things To Do	While staying at Hawks Nest Caravan Park, there’s a multitude of exciting activites to take part in, and many places of interest to visit, such as; sailing, fishing, canoeing, sail boarding, windsurfing and skiing within the lake system. Excellent surfing and beach fishing areas are found along the 40km stretch of beach. Scuba diving, pleasure cruises, dive and fishing charters are popular and house boats and hire boats are available in many areas. A series of walking tracks have been developed in this area, including the Mungo Brush Rainforest Walk and the Mungo Track, a 21km walk linking Hawks Nest to Mungo Brush. There are five beach access routes, which have been built for four wheel drive vehicles. The National Park features a variety of landforms, wildlife and vegetation. Sand grasses bind the beach dunes together, colourful flowers adorn the heath land in spring, whilst magnificent stands of Banksias and paper barks fringe the lakes. Grey kangaroos, wallabies, possums, koalas, spiny ant eaters and a large population of aquatic birds can be found in this area.
