Station lodge offers accommodation with modern facilities to suit independent travellers, couples, families and groups, who are looking for a welcoming and personal experience when visiting Ohakune, New Zealand. Whether you choose to stay in a double room or the shared dorms, you will be impressed with the standard of facilities and service offered. The lodge offers 46 beds/ 11 rooms, giving you a choice of double rooms or small dorms with the choice of 4 or 6 person rooms. (Double beds for couples are also available in dormitory rooms). Station Lodge is within a short walking distance to restaurants, bars and the famous Junction Apres Alpine Zone |

These spacious chalets with their double glazed windows offer views of Mt Ruapehu, while being conveniently located at the Junction, Ohakune. The chalet offers open plan living area, large kitchen, bathroom, outdoor patio, internal storage lockers, drying Rates are for 4 people. Extra adults $20.00. Extra children $20.00. By car, Ohakune is approximately 4-1/2 hours from Auckland and 3-1/2 hours from Wellington. InterCity Coachlines provides a bus service departing Auckland and Wellington via Waiouru. Another service operates between Auckland and Palmerston North. Pick-up service from bus terminals - BY APPOINTMENT - Intercity Coachlines - Kiwi Traveller By rail: Tranzscenic Rail Journeys - The Overlander: The Overlander departs Auckland and Wellington and journeys through the Ruapehu District. Station Lodge is within 100m from the Train Station. |

Heading to Ohakune, You won’t be disappointed - this part of New Zealand is difficult to beat for its sheer beauty and adventure! A smorgasbord of activities awaits both the energetic and relaxed visitor. Ohakune offers the perfect base for exploring the Central Plateau. It includes the World Heritage Tongariro National Park - home to Mount Ruapehu, Mount Ngauruhoe and Mount Tongariro, via a series of walks or mountain bike trails. Enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Turoa Ski Area. It offers New Zealand’s highest ski area with 9 lifts, giving access to 500 hectares (about 1200 acres) of patrolled terrain and Australasia’s longest vertical at 720m. No matter when you visit Ohakune, the area offers something for everyone. Outdoor enthusiasts have plenty to get excited about in Ohakune. The National Park is not only the snow sports mecca of the North, but it is also an excellent place for tramping, mountain biking, canoeing and loads more! For trampers, the Tongariro Crossing is a must and for mountain bikers, the 42nd traverse should not be missed and you would not be disappointed!! You can fish all year round for trout in the mighty Tongariro River; and to top your day off, after all your outdoor activities; unwind by soaking those aching limbs in the outdoor hot tub under the stars! |
