Duke Backpackers is a friendly, family owned hostel which is located right in the centre of Greymouth, neat the Visitor Centre, train station, bus stop, banks, shops and post office. Recently renovated and upgraded including new carpets, refurboshed communal bathrooms and kitchen. There is a wide choice of clean and comfortable accommodation including ensuite, double, twin, single, shared/dorm and family rooms, all with fully made up beds. Included FREE: 1/2 hour internet, soup in the evening, bread & jam in the morning, coffee & tea 24/7, second beer, pool table and more. Duke is highly recommended by Lonely Planet, Let's go, Footprint and other guide books. |

| Getting There |
By car: coming from north/south on State Highway 6 when you get to McDonald's you turn to Tainui Street towards the Grey river and then left to Guinness St. Duke is a purple building on the left at number 27. By bus: Ask the driver to drop you off at our door step or walk 2 minutes from the Information Centre. We are around the corner. By train: When you walk out of the station go left on Mackay St until the library on Albert mall then turn left and you will see the Duke in front of you. |
