Alangkarn show - Thai Alangkarn Theater Proudly presents “The Thai Extravaganza Show” Touch a new experience of Thai performing arts in a Panoramic Concept which is the first of its kind in Thailand. At the heart of Thai Alangkarn Theatre is the “Theater”, a state-of- the-art theater that can entertain 2000 guests. It is decorated in a Modern-Thai Style inclusive of a 70 meters length Hexa stage, two large 11 x 15 meters screens, and a 50 meter water screen for presenting “The Thai Extravaganza Show” in a PANORAMIC CONCEPT with the combination of multi-dimension techniques of presentation, such as Pyrotechnics, Multi-Color Laser Show, Real Surround Sound System and more. Tropical garden “Nong Nooch” (or Orchid Village) - Covers an area of some 500 acres about 15 kilometers. It is a Thai-village-style park. Wat Yansangwararam and Chinese museum - Wat Yansangwararam is a temple under the king's patronage is unique for its modern Thai architecture. Here meditation courses are available at 16.00 and 18.00 hrs. The temple is 12 kilometers south of Pattaya and only 3 kilometers from Nong Nooch Village. Nearby is a chinese-style building called "Wihan Sian" housing antiques and art objects from China. Ayutthaya – the ancient capital of Siam - By the time the first Europeans arrived in the mid-17th century, Ayutthaya was a city of more than a million people - double the population of London at the time. The city sat at the center of a network of nearly 140 kilometers of canals. This 'Golden Age' of Siam came to a close after little more than 400 years when the Burmese sacked the city, setting fire to the temples, carting off the gold and leveling important buildings such as the kings palace. The ruins of the old capital in the Ayutthaya historical park are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The lunch also is included. Kanchanaburi (the River Kwai, 2 days) - Two-day excursion in a province on border with Myanmar, located at 5 o'clock driving from Pattaya. Floating on the mountain twisting River Kwai, the most beautiful falls. Cambodia / Angkor Wat (2 or 3 days) - From about 800 A.D. to 1,400, Angkor was the capital of the Khmer Empire. It was an Indic civilization: indeed, the name 'Angkor' is derived from the Sanskrit 'nakara,' or sacred city. Even the term 'Khamea,' which is equivalent to 'Cambodian,' is derived from the Sanskrit Kambuja. Though never entirely forgotten, the site was semi-abandoned for some 500 years, and reports from occasional visitors, both Asian and European, were disregarded until the mid-19th century. A report by Henri Mouhot, published posthumously in 1864, kindled European interest in the site, and French archaeologists began clearing away the forest after the Thai government in 1907 ceded Angkor to Cambodia, then part of French Indo-China. Through the colonial period, Angkor was internationally famous, but the visitor load was light in comparison to today. During the 1970s and 1980s, the ruins were occupied by Khmer Rouge forces. Tourists stopped coming, and maintenance ceased. Since 1991, Angkor has been open to for foreign visitors once again.
