Huonville Guesthouse offers luxury, self-contained accommodation in the heart of the Huon Valley. The former apple orchard homestead (circa1890), has been sensitively renovated and extended to cater for seven guests in three unique studios. Set in half an acre of park-like gardens, our boutique bed and breakfast is conveniently located just minutes from the centre of Huonville, where you will find a selection of restaurants and cafes. Guests' comfort and privacy are our priority, and how we provide for them is unlike that of other bed and breakfast accommodation. Although part of the historic house, each of our studio-style accommodation has its own private entrance via a pergola-covered patio with an outdoor setting. Each apartment is self-contained with a well equipped kitchenette and is serviced daily for your comfort. We deliver your personalised continental breakfast tray to your room in the afternoon so that you can have breakfast at your leisure in the morning. We know that you will enjoy the home-made jams, cakes, biscuits and selection of seasonal fruits that are among our offerings. Guests travelling in small groups who wish to have breakfast together can be catered for in the dining room if they wish. Huonville is 40km south of Hobart, an easy 35 min. drive. Huonville Guesthouse is situated on the northern approach to Huonville, 200m after the 60kph signage. It makes a convenient base for easy day trips to the many sights and attractions in the Huon Valley, Far South as well as the D'Entrecasteaux Channel area. Southern Tasmania is a tapestry of vineyards, orchards, pastures, gardens, mountains and forests with many opportunities to savour its bounty. The great Huon River passes through Huonville and weaves its way through the Huon Valley providing us with world-class seafood. Meander the many Huon Valley wineries, not only tasting some of Australia's best cold-climate wines, but also drinking in their spectacular natural settings. The Huon River also adds adventure to your stay with its many water activities. And when your day of exploring draws to a close, come home to the cosiness and warmth of our bed and breakfast in Huonville, relax, and have a port or two and some chocolate on us! You will also appreciate our spacious rooms: averaging 30 sq. metres in size with old fashioned 11 foot ceilings giving them wonderful light. And then there are the original polished Tasmanian oak floors and fireplaces in every room. The modern ensuites are brand new and have walk-in showers. Our luxuriously furnished studio-style accommodation is elegantly decorated to reflect our interest and love of other cultures. Whether you stay in the "Bellevue", "Sakura" or "Fiorentin" Studio, the ambience created by the late Victorian building itself is overwhelming. The grand entry and patio enjoy a view to our small orchard. This room has a romantic, old-world feel with its chandelier, ornate mirror and tapestry drapes. | Getting There |
Take the A6 southern oulet, direction "Huonville", from Hobart. It takes about 35 minutes from Hobart and 45 minutes from the airport to the Guesthouse. When you reach the 60km/h sign on the northern approach to Huonville, we are located 200m on the left further on. |
