By car - exit F3 Freeway at the Wallsend exit to Newcastle following the signs - approximately 18 kilometres. Once in Newcastle take the coastal road south to Merewether. By train - exit at Broadmeadow or Newcastle and catch a taxi - approximately 5 minutes. From airport - Catch the shuttle bus or taxi to the door - approximatley 20 minutes. |

Merewether is one of the most popular beachside suburbs of Newcastle. It's home to a number of sporting celebrities who take advantage of this great location. Surfing, swimming, walking, cycling, whale watching (seasonal), dolphin watching (nearly all year round). Also close by great shopping, eating precints such as The Junction, Darby Street, Hamilton, Honeysuckle and the Newcastle foreshore. Take a 45 minute drive to the vineyards and experience the magnificent areas of Pokolbin, Lovedale, Rothbury famous for some of the Hunters best wines. Or experience a day cruise on the harbour or tracking the whales as they migrate north for the winter. Also close by is Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie and of course magnificent Newcastle with its working harbour a fantastic sight by day or night. |
