Tree Tops is an independently owned hotel set in 5 acres of picturesque wooded ground in the beautiful town of Formby, between Liverpool & Southport. With 11 delightful Lodges and a restaurant renowned in the area, Tree Tops offers a truly individual experience. If you are looking for somewhere a little bit different from the hustle a bustle of the city, then you will be pleased that you have found Tree Tops which is a haven for those who adore chic and private hotels with a sense of style. This was originally the dower house to Formby Hall and was acquired by the Winsland family in 1982. Situated between Liverpool and Southport, it is adjacent to Formby Hall Golf Club and there are 10 more championship golf courses in the vicinity. Treetops has eleven delightful lodges situated in five acres of picturesque wooded grounds, guests can watch from their lodge as the rabbits run and the squirrels sprint over the hotels green lawns. The beautifully appointed lodges offer every modern facility to today’s discerning guest, full-length baths and power shower, direct dial telephones, remote controlled television, radio alarm clocks and complimentary hospitality trays. There are a selection of lodges from a family size that sleeps up to five to the cosy single lodges plus everything in-between. The family run establishment, led by award winning management staff and a highly trained team, extends a warm welcome whatever time of day. Enjoy a peaceful pre-dinner drink in the comfortably smart bar, a leisurely lunch in the light and airy conservatory or spoil yourself with a celebratory dinner in the relaxing restaurant. Whatever your choice they have a selection of menus to whet your appetite. The Ala carte menu takes influence from all over the world, often adding a surprising homely twist on some classics. Table D’hôte is served for lunch and dinner. You're guaranteed a meal to set your taste buds tingling as the chef serves some of his favourite specialities. On those lazy Sundays traditional Sunday Lunch is served as well as some mouth watering alternatives such as wild mushroom risotto or pan fried fish. All children under 12 get to eat for half price. Also available are delicious homemade lunchtime snacks, perfect for a midday break as you absorb all the wonderful sights of Formby. |

By car Exit the M57 at junction 7, turn left onto Dunnings Bridge Road. Take a right onto Copy Lane then right onto Northern Perimeter Road (A5207), follow this through to Thornton. Turn right onto Park View (A565) and follow to the left onto Southport Road (A565). Continue on the A565 onto the Formby By-pass going straight ahead at the first roundabout still on the A565. At the second roundabout (next to Formby Golf Centre) turn right onto Southport Old Road. Continue straight on this road for some time, you will find the entrance to the Tree Tops located on your right hand side. |

The area is known as England's golfing capital, boasting many major tournament venues. Tree Tops is surrounded by various courses of note. It is adjacent to Formby Hall Golf Course and in close proximity to Formby Ladies Club. To the North is The Royal Birkdale Golf Club. Part of The Open Championship rotation this fantastic course has played host to the Ryder cup on two occasions. Founded in 1884, Formby Golf Course is a magnificent traditional links of charm and elegance. The Hillside Golf Club has a fantastic course to rival it's neighbour, The Royal Birkdale, having hosted it's share of major tournaments. But of course there's more to Formby than just golf! If you'd prefer to take in some of the natural beauty of the area, Formby beach is close to the hotel, as is Formby point, an area bustling with wildlife. This large area of beach, sand dunes and pine woods is part of the National Trust owned nature reserve, with one of Britain's last thriving colonies of Red Squirrels. If the golf has got you in the mood for more sport the area can cater for your needs a highlight being the Woodvale Rally. Formby itself is a cosmopolitan town with a variety of coffee shops and distinctive stores. |
