| Getting There |
By Air You can fly to Ballina/Byron airport from Sydney on Virgin, Jetstar or Rex Air (daily flights). Le Paradis is 10 minutes from the airport and rental cars are readily available although it is wise to book ahead, especially in peak holiday seasons or long weekends. Pick ups or limousine transfers can also be arranged upon request. Alternatively, access to Le Paradis via Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide has been made easier with an increase in direct fights to Coolangatta/Gold Coast airport. Air New Zealand has commenced direct flights from Auckland and Christchurch to Coolangatta along with Virgin Blue which has commenced direct flights from Canberra. Transfer from Coolangatta to Le Paradis is an easy 50 minutes. Many international flights now also arrive into Brisbane airport with regular transfers available from the airport to Byron Bay/Ballina by shuttle bus, coach, private car rental or luxury transfer. By Car Driving from the North, continue along the Pacific Highway past Byron, Bangalow and Newrybar. After the Macadamia Castle, turn left into Martins Lane and right into Edward Place. Le Paradis is located on the easternmost point in Australia, on the Far North Coast of New South Wales. It lies on the coastal escarpment between Byron Bay and Lennox head and is equidistant between Byron Bay and Ballina. Le Paradis provides easy access to Lennox Head, Bangalow and all other local amenities and attractions. It is a leisurely 1.45 hours drive south of the capital of Queensland, Brisbane, 1 hours drive south of Surfers Paradise, and 10 hours drive north of Sydney. There is only one traffic light between the Brisbane CBD and Le Paradis! Coach and Rail A range of private transport companies provide regional passengers services for the resident population as well as airport shuttle services for tourists. With its network of trains and coaches, Countrylink provides safe and reliable transport from all parts of NSW, Melbourne, plus a service from Brisbane to Byron Bay/Ballina. There is also a daily service from Sydney to Byron Bay via train to Grafton or Casino and then bus to Byron Bay or Ballina. |

Climate: Byron Bay and the region has much to offer all year round from relaxing on the beach and alfresco dining in the summer months to invigorating outdoor activities in the often sunny and drier winter months. Whale watching is a popular activity in the winter and spring months of June to October. Summer is warm to hot with average maximum temperatures of around 27 degrees Celsius. Winter is pleasantly cool with average maximum temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius. Historically March is the wettest month of the year and September the driest. Location: Bounded by the beautiful easterly coastline that lies between Byron Bay and Lennox Head, Le Paradis is positioned as a unique destination for relaxation and enjoyment that offers a subtropical climate with clean air, crystal clear water and truly pristine beaches or tranquil rivers and canals. In today’s hectic world it also offers a chance to escape from the mundane and immerse yourself in the many wellness activities such as yoga and meditation or simply chill out in the wonderful amenities at Le Paradis where you can also arrange a personal massage. Those wanting to experience the natural surroundings can partake in activities such as golf, kayaking with the dolphins, snorkelling and scuba diving or head inland on your trail bike to discover world heritage national parks and lush rainforests. Or for the more adventurous, there’s tandem skydiving, horse riding, hang gliding or windsurfing. Surfing is also popular and the world class beaches of Byron Bay and Lennox Head offer some excellent options, including classes for beginners to the advanced. Dining/Entertainment: The Byron/Ballina region boasts some of the finest cuisine Australia has to offer whether it’s Al a Carte or al fresco dining in the cafes, bistros and award winning, sophisticated and relaxed establishments. As well, there’s a huge choice of diverse entertainment on offer at the Byron Performing Arts Theatre (including international acts/performers), plus cinemas, hotels and night clubs that cater to just about every taste and demographic. Shopping: The region offers a mix of unique fashion boutiques and unusual home décor stores, together with high street and international brands. There is also an abundance of galleries that showcase the work of local artisans, as well as the surrounding villages such as Bangalow which is renowned for its country elegance and sensational shopping. Alternatively, there are the many local weekend markets that accommodate silversmiths, artists and a host of other crafts people who vend their wares at great prices. |
