Woodford is a grand residence full of warmth and character. Built in 1926 and now operating as an adults-only country retreat bed & breakfast, and set in half acre of tranquil gardens surrounded by towering pines, created by the celebrated Paul Sorenson who also designed the nearby 'Everglades Gardens'. Accommodation for adults only is offered in four rooms, from a choice of Suites (bedroom, ensuite and separate sitting room with sofa & TV/DVD's) and traditional rooms also with ensuite for a shorter stay. Twin & Triple accommodation is available in Suites. Woodford offers a renown country breakfast served in our Dining Room or on the outside deck in summer. Your hosts offer a delicious cold buffet and your choice from a selection of freshly cooked hot dishes. On arrival sit by our log fire (winter) enjoy afternoon tea and start to unwind. All the major attractions of the upper Blue Mountains - Echo Point, Three Sisters, Scenic World, Wentworth Falls and the Blackheath/Grose valley, are just a short drive away. The Trolley Bus Service to all of the local scenic tourist attractions stops near the end of the street and will take you to the scenic lookouts and all local places of interest. Situated mid-way between the hustle and bustle of the heritage village and the scenic golf course on the escarpment, each a fifteen minute stroll away. Woodford of Leura provides an ideal central location in the heart of the Blue Mountains, a perfect place to chill out and recharge and a great place to come back to after your day of sightseeing, exploration or adventure. | Getting There |
By Car from Sydney - follow Great Western Highway directly to the Blue Mountains area. At Leura Garden Village follow 'The Mall' through the shopping area and when meeting 'Megalong Street' at the roundabout, turn Left. Follow 'Megalong Street' for roughly 0.9km where it will meet 'Woodford Street' at the toop of the hill. Turn Right and 'Woodford of Leura' is situated a little down the road on the Left. By Train: Catch the Blue Mountains Line from Central Station, Sydney. Alight at Leura Station. Taxi's available just outside the station, or Woodford of Leura is a 15 minute stroll away. If walking proceed down Railway Parade (towards Wentworth Falls) until you meet Victoria Street on your right. Turn into Victoria Street and cross the next intersection (Megalong Street) follow the road around to the left into Lachlan Avenue. You are now walking directly towards Woodford of Leura which you will find straight ahead of you in Woodford Street. We can arrange to pick-up from the railway station, with prior arrangement. |
