Palazzo Guardi is situated in the Accademia area, a central and strategic part of Venice, and precisely at San Trovaso, which is 10 minutes on foot from St. Marks Square and Rialto. This area is full of monuments, museums and art galleries. Few steps away from the hotel, facing the San Trovaso canal there is one of the last and probably the most pittoresque "gondola yard" of Venice. | Getting There |
From Marco Polo Airport: Take Bus to Piazzale Roma Bus terminal (around 20 mins.), from there you have to catch the ACTV public water-buses (Vaporetto) lines 1 or 2, direction LIDO, through the Gran Canal (around 30 mins) and get out at ACCADEMIA, or ACTV line 51, direction LIDO, through the Giudecca Canal (around 20 mins.) and get out at ZATTERE. The Shuttle Boat service called ALILAGUNA takes you directly to ZATTERE (in front at the GESUATI church). It takes 1 hour and 25 mins. It’s a long trip, but it saves you from going up and down from buses and waterbuses with your luggage (especially if you have a lot of pieces). From Santa Lucia Train station: take the ACTV public water-buses lines 1 or 2, direction LIDO, (around 30 mins), through the Gran Canal, and get out at the ACCADEMIA, or ACTV line 61, direction Lido, through the Giudecca Canal (around 25 mins.) and get out at ZATTERE. Please watch out the directions to our property upon arrival since it is in a very narrow alley (only 3 feet wide) so a bit difficult to locate (this is Venice!). Our suggestions: As you get off the public ferry (line 1 or 2) at the Accademia boat stop, face the Accademia Museum . Go right around the building and then take the second right on .Calle del Pistor. The hotel is on the left side and the address noted (our entrance is right there at the n° 995). Please ring the doorbell at the bottom. We have a lift! If you get off the public ferry (line 51 or 61) at Zattere, turning your back on the landing jetty, turn left, then before the Ponte Longo turn right along Fondamenta Nani for approximately 100 meters until the crossing with Calle del Pistor (just after the farmacy), where you will find Palazzo Guardi at number 995. If you get off the Alilaguna airport shuttle boat at Zattere (in front of the church) once you get off, with your back to the jetty, continue straight on Rio Terà Foscarini, take the first left, Calle Larga Pisani, at the end turn right on Rio Terà della Carità, and immediately left on Calle del Pistor, the entrance to Palazzo Guardi is at number 995; Have a nice trip. | Parking |
The most convenient parking solutions are in Mestre, the town on the mainland just before reaching Venice. 1) Parking located in front of the Train Station in Mestre. Once at the end of the motorway (autostrada), you have to follow the directions for MESTRE-STAZIONE The parking place there costs around Euro 10,00 per day, then, at the cost of Euro 1.50 per person public Bus N° 2 will take you to Venice bus station ( Piazzale Roma) (less than 15 minutes trip). 2) The second cheap solution ( from 6,00 EUR per day) is the San Giuliano parkings. Please call us for information. The other three main car parks are almost in town but they are more expensive. |
