Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao is 40 minutes from Qingdao Liuting International Airport.To arrange an airport pick-up, simply provide your flight name, flight number and estimated time of arrival when booking, or contact the hotel directly by telephone: (86 532)83883838 or email: slq.rsvn@shangri-la.com. Please make your booking at least two days in advance.Taxis and city shuttle buses can be found on the ground floor of the domestic and international arrival halls. Taxis are metered, and fare between Qingdao Liuting International airport and the hotel generally costs around RMB 90. |

Qingdao, once known as Tsingtao, is a highly regarded seaside resort city. Qingdao's beautiful scenery of "red roofs, green trees, blue sky and azure sea"is well known. Among Chinese coastal cities, only Qingdao combines green mountains, blue sea and a beautiful city so harmoniously. The city has abundant cultural relics and historical sites, colorful local customs and flavour, and strong contemporary flair. The city’s unique history bestows it with a unique cosmopolitan colour that blends Chinese and European traditions, making Qingdao a sightseeing city of great charm.As a port city, Qingdao is one of China’s key points of distribution, making it an excellent shopping destination. The city has virtually every type of shop imaginable, from large western retailers and supermarkets to individually owned shops and markets. The city offers 5 shopping districts: Zhongshan Road, East Area, Shibei Area, Licun Area and Si Fang Area. Enquire with the hotel staff as to which district will best suit your needs.Lao Shan Mountain lies just 40 km east of Qingdao. The mountain area is a famous Taoist retreat, complete with temples, waterfalls and secluded walking trails. The area’s main attraction is the Great Purity Palace, which dates back to the Song dynasty. From the Palace, trails lead to Lao Shan’s summit.Qingdao is famous for its six beaches. June to September is the main season for swimming. The Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao is nearest to Third Beach, which is known for being quiet and peaceful. Closer to the train station is Sixth Beach, which is home to the Zhan Qiao Pier and the Huilan Pavilion. About 30 minutes by boat from Qingdao is Huang Dao Beach, which is both quiet and clean. The ferry leaves from the Qingdao local ferry terminal to the west of the train station. |
