Airport Connections: Shangri-La's Kerry Centre Hotel is approximately 30 minutes from Beijing Capital International Airport, via the airport expressway and Third Ring Road. Taxis and city shuttle buses can be found on the ground floor of the domestic and international arrival halls. To arrange an airport pick-up, simply provide your flight name, flight number and estimated time of arrival when booking on-line, or contact the hotel directly by telephone: (86 10) 65618833 or email: reservations.hbkc@shangri-la.com. Please make your booking at least two days in advance. Taxis: Taxis in Beijing are cheap and plentiful, and are always on the lookout for customers. Most taxis are metered, with fares differing depending on the condition of the car. Taxis can be hired for a day and fare is negotiable. Taxis are available at Shangri-La's Kerry Centre Hotel or may be hailed from the street. Light Rail (subway): The Guomao light rail system offers rapid service to major business and shopping districts. A station is located next to the China World Complex. Please note that the light rail may be crowded during peak rush hours. |

Shopping: Beijing is one of the world's modern cities, with nearly every type of good or service available. Shopping at open-air markets is an experience not to be missed. Beijing's most popular markets are the Xiushui Silk Market, Panjiayuan and Pearl Market where you can find antiques, porcelain, lacquer ware, jade, carpets, silk, painting, calligraphy scrolls, handicraft, and embroidery. Flea markets operate on weekends throughout Beijing. Night markets usually conduct business at twilight, and bargaining is only possible with private vendors in street stalls. |
