The surrounding area is home to a variety of local attractions like the Honey Haven, High Valley Wine & Cheese Company, antique stores, hand made jewellery, local craft & farmers markets, historic towns nearby like Gulgong, museums, national parks, dams and deer & trout farms. The hotel features a fully licensed Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge Bar. The Cooperage Restaurant offers a Modern Australian style menu incorporating influences from the Mudgee region and includes an extensive local wine selection. Cooperage Restaurant is closed Sunday nights. To relax guests can enjoy our heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa, tennis courts and table tennis. There are many areas on the property to sit back and relax, a seat by the pond, in our BBQ area or on the deck beside the water feature overlooking the mountains. Magic! The Mudgee area is well known for its bountiful array of local produce, most particularly its honey and the many fine wineries, olive groves and fresh fruit and vegetables. The local arts and crafts industry has also blossomed and the area boasts a number of galleries and gift stores. For the heritage buffs there are some fine displays of heritage listed buildings dating back to the 1850's and for those who enjoy the outdoors, there are a number of national parks and nature reserves with walking tracks and picnic facilities. Arts, Crafts and Galleries: There are many galleries and studios in the area featuring pottery, woodwork, original oil and watercolour paintings, ceramics, hand spinning and country crafts Fishing and Water Sports: The nearby Burrendong and Windamere Dams are perfect for tranquil fishing Honey: Enjoy visiting a honey farm and see the bees at work! And of course, taste the many different honey varieties and buy direct to enjoy at home. There are a number of locations to sample and purchase honey including the Honey Haven and the Mudgee Honey Company National Parks: There are many national parks and nature reserves in the Mudgee area.
