Swan Lake @ Cashmere is set in 1.5 acres of magnificent gardens and offers the finest accommodation. It is just minutes from the centre of Christchurch and boasts it's own private Chapel and Lake. A spring-fed stream runs through the grounds and feeds the lake which is home to beautiful white swans. Appropriately named Swan Lake due to the romance that has been captured here for over 100 years which is well documented. Originally part of a much larger block of land, The Thorrington Estate, was bought by Charles Clark who arrived in Christchurch about 1856. Many of the graceful English trees that form the woodsland on the other side of the lake were planted in the 19th century. There are three luxurious suites available for guests - Romeo & Juliet Suite has two Super King beds with an adjoining lounge & ensuite. These beds can be divided into four singles if required. It has a broadband connected computer for guests use in the room together with Sky TV on a flat screen. The view of the lake, gardens and woodlands is breath-taking. The Cleopatra & Anthony Suite is also upstairs and has a beautiful view of the lake, gardens and woodlands too. It features a queen sized bed with an adjoining bathroom The Cinderella Suite is situated on the ground floor and has direct access onto the lawns and gardens. It has a Super King bed and flat screen Sky TV. The bed can be divided into two single beds if required. A full breakfast is offered to all guests in the Ernle Clark Dining Room, outside in the sun overlooking the lake or in the privacy of your own suite. Full gourmet dinners are also available by arrangement and formal dining facilities are available for up to 12 guests. Swan Lake has luxury vehicle hire & tours to compliment your stay. Our experienced driver with unequalled local knowledge is available to take half or full day trips to Akaroa, Kaikoura, Hanmer Springs, Mt Cook or any other destination of your choice. This Suite has two luxurious Super King beds which can be split into 4 singles. This Suite has stunning views over the lake, gardens and woodlands.
