Haadlad Prestige Resort & Spa is located on Haadlad Beach or Haad Salad with beautiful scenery, white sandy beach with small sand dunes, lined with tropical coconut trees, live coral reefs, tropical fish and crystal clear water. It is only 15 minutes from Thong Sala Center (Ko PhaNgan Pier). This hotel land scape is flat-lands, so you do not have to climb mountain to get into your villa. In Previous Times Haad Salad* or Salad Beach was called Pirate Beach by the local residents. The sheltered bay and nearby mountains were perfect for pirates hiding goods and people. * In the Thai language, Haad means Beach. In the local Thai dialect, Salad means Pirate, so Haad Salad means Pirate Beach. The local Thai dialect shortens Haad Salad to Haadlad so our hotel is called "Haadlad Prestige Resort & Spa . " Today the pirates are gone but Haadlad is ready for your visit with its beautiful scenery. - BY AIRPLANE There are three airports to which guests can fly. Ko Samui is the most convenient via Bangkok Airway (www.bangkokair.com) operating 40 flights a day from Bangkok. You must connect with a passenger ferry of Lomprayah (300 Baht 8.00-8.30, 12.30-13.00) or Seatran (300Baht, 8.00-8.30, 13.30-14.00) for the ferry to Ko PhaNgan. It is less expensive to fly to Surat Thani airport(www.airasia.com, www.thaiairways.co.th) with the budget airlines. You must connect with passenger ferry of Songserm Ferry or Raja Ferry near the city of Surat Thani for the ferry to Ko PhaNgan. - BY TRAIN Visitors to Ko PhaNgan can take the air conditioned train from Bangkok to Surat Thani and catch a ferry to the Island. For further details, please click on www.railway.co.th, www.thailandbytrain.com for train schedules. In the upper right hand corner, you can click on "English version". Choose the Southern Route for train service from Bangkok to Surat Thani. Visitors must take a bus or taxi from the train station to the ferry port at Donsak (about one hour from the train station) and take the Raja Ferry to Ko PhaNgan (www.rajaferry.co.nr). - Cooking Class: Offering hands-on cooking class making tasty Thai food. Spend a morning or afternoon in unique seaview kitchen on the second floor on Khun Sunee Restaurant with our highly trained chefs to learn the secrets of making the best in Thai food from around the country. - Full Moon Party: Ko Pha-Ngan is famous for the monthly Full Moon Party at Haad Rin beach. Haad Rin beach is the 24/7 party center of the Island with dance parties every night. There are also other parties outside of Haad Rin beach during the month, including Black Moon, Half Moon, etc. Resort Taxis are available to take guests to the parties. The reef at Haadlad is beautiful and was undisturbed for a long time due to the remoteness of the beach from the main town. The neighboring beach of Mae Haad is also a scenic snorkeling and scuba site. Guests can get there from Haadlad by longtail boat in five minutes or take a 30 minute walk. Into scuba diving, there are severals other notable diving sites such as Mae Haad, Sail Rock and the Angthong National Marine Park. The Island hosts many affordable diving schools that teach diving. Many schools offer diving instruction in the major European languages. - Kayaking: Guests can kayak around the one kilometer Haadlad bay or visit neighboring beaches. - Fishing: Try some fishing with the experienced captains at the local fisherman's village - guests will never forget it! All the fishing gear and lunch are provided on board. And don't forget..... whatever you catch, our chef will cook it all for you at our BBQ corner at the Haadlad Prestige Resort & Spa. - Elephant Trekking: There are a few Elephant camps on Ko Pha Ngan and yes, you can experience the joy of riding your own Elephant in Ko Pha Ngan. Don't forget to bring a couple of bananas with you! - Getting Around Ko Pha Ngan Island: There are many beautiful natural attractions around the Island including neighboring Ko Mah (Horse Island), and the beautiful waterfalls at Than Sadet National Park which have been visited by four of Thailand's Kings. |
