Sorell is a thriving country town with plenty of facilities for visitors. There are lovely parks to walk in, old churches and buildings to explore and antiques shops to browse through. The local eateries and restaurants provide you with plenty of choices for meals. The Barracks is in the centre of town and everything is within a few minutes walk. We are only 10 minutes from the airport or historic Richmond and 30 minutes from Hobart. Port Arthur is only a 50 minute drive away, making the Barracks a perfect base to explore the east coast. We have something to suit everyone's needs, for couples, friends and families, with 2 bedroom spa suites, upstairs 1 bedroom lofts and our gorgeous little garden cottage. Our gardens are full of old cottage roses and fruit trees which you’re welcome to sample when they’re in season. We have plenty of off-street parking available for our guests. |

2 Bedroom Spa Suite 1
The 2 bedroom spa suite is on the ground floor of the historic barracks building and is perfect for families. 1 queen bedroom, 1 twin share bedroom (2 single beds), a kitchenette, cosy sitting room and a generous bathroom with a corner spa bath. Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $30.00. Extra children $30.00. The room caters for a maximum of 4 adults, and a maximum of 3 children but cannot exceed 4 guests in total. The following bedding is provided:

Our small garden cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway. The cottage is located beside the original barracks building and has a lace canopy double bed, ensuite and small kitchenette. | Getting There |
If you are coming from the airport, you take the third exit on the roundabout and proceed past Barilla Seafoods on your left and the airport runway to your right. You then proceed across two land causeways to enter Sorell - approximately 8 minutes travelling time. Turn left in to Somerville Street which is just past Banjo's Bakery and before the Pembroke Pub. Turn next left in to Walker Street which runs parallel with the main road. We are on the right hand side - a white colonial terrace. There is a driveway to the left of the building which accesses the car park and the reception area to your right. |
