Dunedin is just 10 minutes away Picnic amongst hundreds of trees , feed the sheep.Play with the kittens & our cocker sp aniel Lady Jane just might shake hands with you Pot B is an old sheep & likes people who feed him with bread .For some of the best beaches & diving spots go to Warrington, Aramoana, Shag Point & Karitane Catch the train nearby for magnificent coastal scenery - bookings required. Waitati deafened the first European settlers with birdsong is now appropriately the home of the Orokonui ecosanctuary & is for tourists,locals & all interested in native flora & fauna (there's a kiwi there now) 45 minutes to the Peninsula (home of the castle, penguin & albatross colonies)& to the Moeraki boulders , Fleurs restaurant & while up that way see penguins & seals - just ask Faye for directions & for the road to Port Chalmers that some of our guests have described as unsurpassed in terms of scenic value. |
