A sanctuary for your soul, The Falls Retreat. Escape to this peaceful haven in the Karangahake Gorge 2 delightful rustic style cottages set in beautiful peaceful gardens, overlooking Owharoa Falls. Enjoy the magnificent views of Owharoa Falls from our beautiful hand built pagoda. Only 200m to access Karangahake Gorge Historic walkway Both cottages are fully self contained with all crockery, utensils, linen and towels provided. Both are cosily furnished with inviting queen size beds, log fires and equipped with TV/DVD player and a selection of movies and books for guests to choose from. Great regional food and wine available from nearby Ohinemuri Estate Winery and local cafes. Meals and other catering can be provided on request. Dogs welcome with prior notice |

Fig Tree Cottage is on one level, open plan and includes an adjoining verandah. Country style furnishings complement high ceilings with exposed timber frames. A log fire is situated in the verandah, which also has bifold windows /French doors Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $35.00. The room caters for a maximum of 3 adults, and a maximum of 1 child but cannot exceed 3 guests in total. The following bedding is provided:

By car from Auckland: Head South from Auckland on the Southern Motorway, continuing along Great South Road (State Highway 1). Take the ramp onto State Highway 2. Follow SH2 through Paeroa. Waitawheta Road is located approximately 7km after Mackaytown, on the right. From Hamilton: Head East from Hamilton on State Highway 26 to Paeroa. Turn onto State Highway 2 at Paeroa. Waitawheta Road is located approximately 7km after Mackaytown, on the right. From Tauranga: Head North West from Tauranga on State Highway 2. Turn left onto Old Tauranga Road. Continue onto Pukekauri Road which leads onto Waitawheta Road. |
