Noah’s Ark is in a beautiful heritage building just 100m from Greymouth town centre. Originally a monastery it is now decorated throughout with animal themed rooms. We offer spacious private and shared rooms that are warm and comfortable, with self-controlled heaters, clean linen and duvets. Spare blankets and hot water bottles are included free of charge during the winter months and all private rooms include complimentary towels. With an extensive garden area with picnic tables, BBQ and hammocks, it’s a great place to enjoy a sunny afternoon and you can enjoy free use of our spa pool, mountain bikes and fishing rods. We have comfortable lounges with a piano and guitar, log fires, games and a stereo. There is a separate TV room with huge screen, Sky TV and an extensive movie collection. There is also a large fully equipped kitchen and full laundry facilities. You have 24hr access to broadband internet with Skype and DVD burners and wifi is also offered. We aim to provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere so that you can relax and enjoy your time here. |

| Getting There |
The easiest landmark to look for is the McDonalds restaurant, which is on the main road through town. Driving from the south turn right onto Chapel Street just before you reach McDonalds. From the west or north, follow the signs for Franz Josef and turn left just after you pass McDonalds. From the train station, walk towards the town centre, take the first left onto Tainui Street and we are on Chapel Street to the right of McDs. From the i-Site information centre, walk towards the town centre, take a right onto Tainui Street, we are on Chapel Street to the right of McDs. |

Noah's Ark Backpackers have mountain bikes and fishing rods available free of charge and your host Matt is a keen outdoor enthusiast. He will happily offer advice on what to see and do, as well as arrange and book activities. The West Coast is a natural adventure playground where you can experience world class adventure activities or just kick back and relax and enjoy more leisurely pastimes. * White water rafting & cave tubing * Quad biking & off-road carting * Mountain biking trails * Hiking & walking tracks * Surfing (boards for hire in town) * Monteiths Brewery tours * Shantytown - an historic gold mining town * Deep sea fishing * Trout fishing * Indoor climbing * Scenic flights * Transalpine train to Christchurch The West Coast is also home to a variety of annual events including the famous Hokitika Wild Food Festival, the Kumara horse races, motorcycle street racing, stock car racing, the Coast to Coast multisport race and cycle races. |
