Originally opened in 1922, this boutique hotel between downtown San Francisco and Cathedral Hill is 4 blocks from the Powell Street cable car and 6 blocks from Nob Hill and Union Square. The Hotel Vertigo underwent a complete renovation in May 2008. All 97 York Hotel guest rooms are spacious & moderately appointed with walk-in closets, safes, free wireless & operable windows. Our comfortable suites include 2 bathrooms and a parlor area with a Queen sleeper sofa, wet bar, microwave, and refrigerator. Personality Hotels Pet Policy: Dogs only, no cats. One dog only, medium size (40 pounds or less) and we do not accept the Pit Bull or Rotweiller breeds, or any dog that appears to be aggressive. USD$75 non refundable pet cleaning fee charged at check in. (The room must be deep cleaned after a pet departs at an additional cost to the property) This fee is non negotiable. $250 refundable deposit that is charged to the credit card upon check in. After the room is inspected by housekeeping, all or part of the deposit will be refunded based on the status of the room. Guest must sign a written agreement upon check in that states the charges and the house rules. The dog must be secured in a kennel or removed from the room when it is being serviced. The room must be serviced daily. If the dog disturbs other guests by barking, the guest will be asked to leave with the dog. |

Deluxe Room features white tufted-leather headboard, white & orange 300 threadcount linens, porcelain horse head lamps and wingback chairs in vibrant orange leather. Bathrooms are stylish in creamy white with a crocodile-pattern. Rates are for 2 people. The room caters for a maximum of 2 adults, and a maximum of 1 child but cannot exceed 2 guests in total. San Francisco International Airport (SFO): Approximate driving time to Hotel Vertigo is 30 minutes and distance is 15 miles. Oakland International Airport (OAK): Approximate driving time to the Hotel Vertigo is 27 minutes and distance is 20 miles. Getting there: From San Francisco International and Oakland International airports, taxis (more than USD$36), shuttles (USD$16–$25), and BART trains (under USD$5) are the most popular ways of getting to the hotel. Airport shuttles are found on the Arrivals level of the airports. From San Francisco International, BART operates directly to the Powell Street Station, a half-mile from the hotel. From Oakland International, a BART shuttle departs regularly for the Coliseum Station, where guests can catch a train to the Powell Street Station. Rental cars are available online. Getting around: Walking is a popular way of exploring the city. San Francisco’s MUNI system offers routes throughout the city and includes electric streetcars, cable cars, trolleys, buses, and light rail. All-day and three-day MUNI passes cost USD$5–$15 and are valid for unlimited travel and transfers. The BART rail system provides access to much of the Bay Area, including Berkeley, Oakland, and Fremont. The Powell Street BART Station is a half-mile from the hotel. Taxis are also readily available. For trips outside the city, the most common modes of transportation are rental cars or limousine/touring vans. |
