The Barefoot Lodge lies on the secluded volcanic island of Drawaqa, in the Southern Yasawa Islands of Fiji. The stunning coral gardens right off the beach are some of the best in Fiji. Barefoot Lodge offers twenty twin share waterfront bures built and thatched in traditional style by local villagers. All meals at the Lodge are prepared for you and included in the nightly rate. The Lodge offers a tranquil, nature-based experience for alternative travellers of all ages. Its low impact policy aims to preserve the natural environment, maintain an authentic Fijian experience and replace 21st Century noise with the silence of the stars. Limited power sources are provided from energy efficient systems which blend with the natural environment. Activities include snorkelling and kayaks (equipment hire free), island treks, volleyball, tropical garden nursery, star gazing, evening fireside music and lazy hours alternating between the hammock and the lagoon. |

Single Shared Bure
Waterfront bures (share room) built and thatched in traditional style. Each has 2 single beds (can be pushed together if you prefer), linen supplied, BYO towel. Showers & toilets are communal with cool fresh water. There is no electricity in the bure. Rates are for 1 person. The room caters for a maximum of 1 adult. The following bedding is provided:

| Getting There |
Transfers from Denarau Marina to Barefoot Lodge are at an additional charge. The Yasawa Flyer operates daily fast boat transfers between Denarau Marina and the Barefoot Lodge. Transfers are an additional cost and approx 2.5 hours duration each way. The Yasawa Flyer also offers bus pick ups from most Nadi hotels. | Things To Do |
The Lodge offers a tranquil, nature-based experience for alternative travellers of all ages. Activities include snorkelling and kayaks (equipment hire free), island treks, volleyball, tropical garden nursery, star gazing, evening fireside music and lazy hours alternating between the hammock and the lagoon. The Drawaqa island walking trail offers stunning views of the surrounding coral reefs. It is a mildly elevated climb and trek along the western edge of the island and in some areas follows goat tracks cut into the hillside. Organised departures are escorted by a local guide, highlighting the native flora and fauna. If you would like to explore the island by yourself on foot, by kayak or snorkel, please notify the Lodge Manager with your anticipated route and return time before leaving the Lodge. Guests at the Barefoot Lodge have the opportunity to assist in making Drawaqa Island a self sufficient island paradise by participating in morning planting activities for our tropical garden nursery. Fresh fruits and vegetables are being planted and examples include: 3 types of banana, 3 types of native tapioca, pawpaw, coconut, breadfruit, watermelon, pineapple and pumpkin. |
