| Getting There |
20 minutes north of Tully, Mission Beach is almost half way between Townsville and Cairns in tropical Far North Queensland. Just under 2 hours drive south on the Bruce Highway from Cairns or 3 hours north of Townsville. There is bus service available from both Cairns and Townsville with drop off to the bus station at Wongaling Beach. Mission Beach Dunk Island Connections pick up from Cairns Airport and most accommodation places in Cairns and will drop off to the door. One way car rental is available in Cairns. |

| Things To Do |
As well as walks along the beach you can take a walk on the Kennedy Track to Lugger Bay and Tam-O-Shanter point, hire a range of watercraft – sailboats, tinnies, jetskis and kayaks to enjoy in the beautiful blue Coral Sea, launch a boat at one of two nearby boat ramps - the Hull River or the south end of the beach, and if you’re lucky you’ll see one of our resident Cassowaries nearby. If you’re looking for a bit more excitement, you’ll find guided tours, activities, exploring the Great Barrier Reef, visiting Dunk Island or walking through our beautiful World Heritage Rainforest also close at hand. You can follow the clearly marked tracks through our world heritage listed rainforest; experience the thrill of whitewater rafting on the Tully River; enjoy the Coral Sea by kayak, sailboat, or small motor boat; see Mission Beach from the air while tandem sky-diving (landing right on the beach); marvel at the spectacular Great Barrier Reef while snorkeling or scuba-diving; or simply laze around the pool or at the magnificent beach right at your doorstep. |
