Ferndale Country Retreat offers delightful accommodation, magnificent views and a range of recreational facilities in a delightful bush setting overlooking the Hawkesbury River. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere in one or two bedroom cabins all with spectacular river or bush views. The cabins are surrounded by an abundance of flowering native plants which attract a wide variety of birds. All cabins have their own bathrooms reverse cycle a/c, telephone and tea and coffee making facilities. Six two-bedroom cabins + 14 one bedroom cabins. Breakfast is included in the tariff or you can opt for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast or all meals including lunch. On site we have a swimming pool tennis court, games room with billiards, table tennis and darts, and bicycles. For those wishing to explore the area we can pack a picnic lunch for your enjoyment. As we are not licensed you are welcome to BYO. There are plenty of things to see and do in the area including golf, river cruises and wine tasting - all within an easy drive from Ferndale. |

| Getting There |
Consult your street directory and find the easiest way for you to get onto the Old Northern Road. Then drive towards Wisemans Ferry. You will go through Glenorie, Forest Glen. Keep going and you will see a large sign on your left "Windsor" this is the Wiseman's Ferry Road. Turn left and follow the road for 5-6 kms. Another sign on your right will say "Sackville/Lower Portland", turn to the right and follow this road for another 5-6kms and you will come to River Road, which is actually the second road on the right after you have made the turn. Turn into River Road and travel for 10 kms, and you will come to Ferndale - a two storey white house on the right hand side of the road. DO NOT CROSS OVER ANY FERRIES. Pick up can be arranged from Windsor Station. |

| Things To Do |
Ferndale is situated near the junction of the Colo and Hawkesbury Rivers and surrounded by national parks. The area is steeped in history of the early settlers including the oldest church in Australia at Ebenezer or the walk along the Old Northern Road constructed by convicts. Nearby Windsor contains the first observatory and the oldest pub in NSW, a wealth of antique shops to browse. |
