This is a small - 25 room resort set in luxurious tropical gardens...the surrounding areas are undeveloped giving a greater sense of an escape from the world. this is a popular resort with saigon expats who want to escape the city and hear nothing but birds and the ocean which is just meters from the sea view rooms.the main mui ne strip is a short taxi ride from the resort and the most common remark from guests is how nice it is to be able to retreat back to whitesands after the noise and crowds -- back to ones own private retreat.there are only 5 resorts in the bay on which whitesands is located with substantial areas of vacant, palm filled land. so whilst the increasingly overcrowded and developed mui ne beach is difficult to stroll down because of high tides and kitesurfers launching kites, its a blessing to be able to walk along a kite free and uncrowded beach-- with the exception of the occasional cows !!!! the kitchen staff have been trained for two years by one of the first graduates from the famous hanoi training centre " koto " which was started nearly ten years ago by an australian jimmy phan, who saw the need for training of street kids..koto has since become an institution in hanoi, having graduates palced in all the major hotels, and having the likes of visisyng dignitaries, including bill clinton visit. needless to say you wont be dissapointed with the food. sleep, eat, read and relax if its a total unwind your looking for this is the place...if you are planning to start your vietnam holiday in mui ne before exploring the country you can always seek out the advice of the manager of whitesands , glenn, who has lived in vietnam for 11 years , and who is always willing to offer advice and suggestions to make your time in mui ne and vietnam a little easier...whitesands is rated 3 stars, but its generally agreed that with the little extras like in room tea /coffee facilites, bathrobes and fully equipped gym, with sauna , steam and jacuzzi faclities on top of friendly well trained staff and top notch food, whitesadns has an extra star. |

Just meters from the ocean this room offers fantastic views to the fishing boats that harbour all day within sight and at night offers a spectacular view of the thousands of boats lit up fishing for squid. This view looks like a highway in the ocean. Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $25.00. The room caters for a maximum of 2 adults, and a maximum of 1 child but cannot exceed 3 guests in total. From saigon there are four options, 1/ tourists buses twice daily from the "backpacker area " in saigon. many companies now have sleeper seats at us$10 makes the trip a little more enjoyable... 2/ there is a morning train from saigon station to phan thiet , where the hotel will arrange pickup for the 15 minute drive to the resort 3/ a private car and driver can be arranged ( at time of writing us$100 one way ) 4/ for the more adventurous, there are many local buses leave saigon everyday. if you have any further questions please ask at time of your booking enquiry. |

| Things To Do |
The most famous tourist attraction is undoubtably the sand dunes...these dunes stretch for miles. it is suprising to see these in a tropical country where people expect jungle and palm trees...due to the extent of these sand dunes mui ne has its own micro climate which gives the area the best weather in south east asia..there is the ta cu mountain chair lift that will take you up to see one of asia's longest lounging buddha's, the views for the mountain are sweeping and well worth the trip..there is the fairy stream to walk down, this is a stream carved through the sand dunes...unique.!! then there is the area itself..mui ne has been a tourist area for only ten years, many desacribe it as similar to bali and thailand years ago...that in itself is an attraction |
