"Best Nationwide Retreat Centre" - for New Zealand - winner of the peoples choice award at the 2009 Corporate Events Guide Dinner 30th October 2009 Pear Tree Cottage is situated half way between Queenstown & Arrowtown (12 minutes drive to either -10 minutes from the airport), directly below the Coronet Peak Ski Area - which fills the view to the north – the cottage is the original farm house for "Dalefield Farm". Our cozy cottage is actually almost the size of an average house and has been lovingly restored and filled with rural Kiwi memorabilia. Although very close to Queenstown the property is large (8 acres) & situated on a quiet country no exit lane with a rural north facing aspect. Very private with unrivaled shelter and sun. Your party has the exclusive use of the whole "Cottage". There are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with a double and a single. There is also a lounge with a large open fire place and a bar, a large "farmhouse" style kitchen/dining room (which includes a stocked pantry), bathroom with a large "claw foot" bath tub as well as the separate shower, separate toilet and laundry. Centrally heated throughout. Phone, fax & internet. Lounge has TV, VCR, Stereo, Video library, CD collection, wood cupboard, games, magazines, books. Kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob and wall oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee grinder, juice wizard, food processor, electric kettle, coffee plungers, all utensils, cutlery, crockery, bowls, dishes -everything normally found in a well equipped kitchen plus many unusual additional items. Bedrooms have goosedown duvets, cotton bed linen, wool underlays, electric blankets, towels, robes & slippers. The extensive sunny deck is cluttered with dozens of flower filled pots, rustic containers and hanging baskets creating an "outdoor living room" and leading to a sweeping lawn. Your party also has the private use of the extensive, secluded gardens. Your hosts, Terry & Erina McLean, live in a separate cottage 50 metres away. "If God created the earth then New Zealand was the template, and now I know where he spent his day of rest" - comment by a guest staying at Pear Tree Cottage. "We have haven't seen anything like it anywhere in the world - the cottage, the location, the gardens, the lovely hosts - we now have a better understanding of what is meant by 'fine accommodation' in New Zealand" - comment by 9 agents from Kuoni Travel, Zurich. |
