Glenfield house is a beautifully restored grand Victorian villa. Each luxurious guest room is set well away from each other. They are appointed to a very high standard to ensure our guests' comfort and privacy. Our residential setting at the top of historic High Street, is only 2 minutes drive or taxi from the hustle of the city centre. Self service continental breakfast is provided in each room with freshly ground coffee. Glenfield House was built in 1884 and has the stylish character reminiscent of Dunedin’s prosperous past, wood panelling, ornate ceilings and a dining room dominated by an impressive carved kauri fireplace. There are three very separate and unique rooms with warmth and comfort in mind. All rooms have tea/ coffee making facilities, televison, DVD player, telephone and queen or king bed with pillow top matresses, feather duvets, pillows and crisp white linen. Guests can use the outdoor Petanque area whilst enjoying the tranquil garden setting. Glenfield House is 2km from the city centre, a 15 minute walk to the Octagon or 2 minutes by car. Also on the doorstep (150 metres away) is a choice of takeaway shops,a cafe, an Indian restaurant, a wine shop, dairy, supermarket and post office. Glenfield House is Qualmark graded at 4 star Plus. |

This very large room boasts a separate sun-room,en suite, a balcony with views of the harbour and ocean,a solid wood king bed with pillow top mattress and a luxurious claw foot bath. | Getting There |
From the South continue along the motorway until motorway ends. The speed limit changes to 50 km, turn left at the fire station on the brow of the hill into Mornington Road. Continue along, the name of the road changes to Elgin Road. At the T junction turn right into Mailer Street. Continue past the shops, Peel Street is first on the right after the Vet Clinic. From the North go through the Octagon along Princes Street, turn right in Rattray Street and at the light left into Broadway, next lights turn right into High street. Peel street is at the very top of High St on the left. |
