Sunrise at 1770 is an award winning, eco friendly, ultra luxurious resort situated in Agnes Water on the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Accommodation is in private, individually architecturally designed and eco friendly homes. Each home within the Sunrise at 1770 resort is fully self-contained with generous living and entertaining areas and large outside decks surrounded in glass to let the outside in. 180 degree ocean views are available from most properties. For exclusive use by guests, there is 2 Recreational Leisure Clubs situated either side of the property. The Springs Club which is frequented by family groups, boasts 25m horizon Lap pool, Children’s pool, Children’s playground, Basketball court, Beach Volleyball Court and 4 Tennis Courts. Surrounding the pool areas are also 4 BBQ pavillions which each contain gas BBQ, bar fridge, generous stone bench tops, sink, kettle, toaster and seating for 8 on comfortable teak all weather furniture. The Beach Club is nestled into the hillside on the southern side of the resort, and features a 25m horizon lap pool, and 4 BBQ settings with all facilities overlooking the stunning China Beach. This Club is favored by couples looking for peace and serenity. Throughout the resort, there are numerous beach access tracks to secluded beaches where you are able to kick back and relax, watch whales from the beach or turtles nesting (seasonal). Or just enjoy the natural enlightenment achieved from the warm sun on your face, and the cool ocean breeze in your hair. Agnes Water / Seventeen Seventy is the gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. With Islands such as Lady Musgrave, Lady Elliott and Heron just off the coast, you are able to have a full Reef experience without the maddening crowds that habit the high tourist areas of the Northern beaches. Dining is enjoyed at a choice of many eateries from Café Restaurant to a-la-carte available. By Car(from South): When travelling north on the Bruce Highway, just north of Apple Tree Creek take the exit ramp for Bundaberg. Once you have reached Bundaberg follow the signs to Gin Gin, and then take the turn to Town of 1770/Lowmead. From here, follow the signs to Town of 1770/Agnes Water. Once you have arrived at Agnes Water, drive directly through the township, do NOT turn to Town of 1770. From the town centre you will travel 5.3km along Springs Road to Sunrise at 1770. Reception is situated in the compound on the right just before the roundabout. (from North): Travelling south on the Bruce Highway take the Miriam Vale exit and follow the signs to Town of 1770/Agnes Water. Once you have arrived at Agnes Water, drive directly through the township, do NOT turn to Town of 1770. From the town centre you will travel 5.3km along Springs Road to Sunrise at 1770. Reception is situated in the compound on the right just before the roundabout. Driving Times Brisbane 5.5 hrs Sunshine Coast 5 hrs Hervey Bay 3 hrs Rockhampton 3 hrs Bundaberg 1.25 hrs Gladstone 1.25hrs By Air: Fly to Bundaberg or Gladstone (1.25 hrs drive to the Resort) or Rockhampton and Hervey Bay (3 hrs drive to the resort). Airport transfers are available by prior arrangement. Rental cars can be acquired at Airports, or waiting for you at your property on arrival. (pre bookings required). Private Air transfer can be arranged by prior booking. Please contact reception for rates. Agnes Water also has a private airstrip for private aircraft/chartered flights – please contact reception for landing prices. By Train The Tilt train stops at Miriam Vale Station, approximately 35 minutes from the resort. Transfers can be arranged by contacting Reception prior to arrival. By Bus: Greyhound services the Agnes Water area daily from both north and south. |
