Only a 75-minute cruise across Moreton Bay by a high-speed catamaran from Brisbane, the resort is a perfect destination if you are seeking a unique adventure or nature based experience in a truly relaxed environment right on Brisbane’s doorstep! The Resort is privately owned and operated by a local Australian family and operates as a 3.5 star property. A highlight of any stay is the opportunity to interact closely with nature. Each evening a pod of wild bottlenose dolphins eagerly swim up to the beach adjacent to the well-lit jetty, where they are hand fed fresh fish by our Dolphin Care Team and Resort guests. Whether you are feeding the dolphins or simply watching from the jetty, the experience is unforgettable. In the mornings the resident pelicans and cormorants enjoy a bucket or two of fish hand fed to them on the beach. When visiting during the whale migration season from July to the end of October, you can partake in the Whale-watching cruise and catch a close view of these majestic mammals. Rejuvenate yourself with a range of over 75 adventure or nature based tours and activities. The resort’s desert safari tour allows guests to participate in the thrilling sport of sand tobogganing down a 70 metre high sand dune whilst reaching speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour- it’s an exhilarating fun! Other things to see and do include four wheel drive, jet ski and ATV quad bike tours, marine eco cruises, parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, banana boat rides, helicopter joy flights and much more. Choose from a variety of dining options and facilities at the resort including Tursiops buffet restaurant, beachfront Steakhouse and Chefs' a-la-carte restaurants, the beach café, coffee shop and resort shop. Stay within 50 metres of the beach amongst landscaped gardens and natural bush land in a range of accommodation options to suit every style and budget. Choose from 96 air-conditioned hotel rooms, 134 self-contained resort units and suites or 56 luxurious two-storey beachfront villas. Tangalooma’s high-speed catamarans depart from Brisbane’s Holt St Wharf at Pinkenba daily. The wharf is easily accessible being only a 15-minute drive from the CBD and 10 minutes from Brisbane Airport. Coach transfers from Brisbane Airport, Roma Street Transit Centre and inner city hotels can be booked on request. Parking is available at the wharf for a nominal fee. Please note early departure from the hotel incurs 100% cancellation fee. Q150 CELEBRATION (WHALE WATCH CONDITIONS) You will automatically be booked on the Whale Watch on the day of arrival. If this is cancelled due to bad weather, you will be transferred to the following day (subject to availability). DUGONG ECO CRUISE Journey along the coastline in search of dolphins, dugongs, green sea turtles, sea cucumbers, stingrays and more. Our purpose built catamaran provides unobstructed views of Moreton Bay intriguing marine life. Full commentary is provided by a qualified marine biologist from Tangalooma's Marine Eduction Centre. DUGONG ECO CRUISE and WHALE WATCH CONDITIONS Even though every effort is made to find dugongs or whales we cannot guarantee sightings. As cancellations may occur due to poor weather please provide current contact information on confirmation of your booking. You will automatically be booked on the Dugong Eco Cruise or whale watch cruise on the day of arrival. Please note: We will endeavour to book you on the 10am launch Brisbane to Tangalooma on the day of arrival and the 4pm launch Tangalooma to Brisbane on the day of departure. This is subject to availability. Other launch times are available. Please RECONFIRM YOUR BOOKING PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT THE RESORT TO CONFIRM YOUR LAUNCH TRANSFERS & ACCOMMODATION BOOKING. Payment to be made on arrival - adults $70.00 return and children (3 - 14 yrs inclusive) $36.00. If these services are not required, or you wish to hold additional seats, please notify our reservations staff (8.30am-5pm seven days) at least 24 hours prior to travel, failure to do so will incur a 50% cancellation fee on any unused services we have held on your behalf. Tangalooma runs three high speed passenger catamaran services from our wharf at Holt Street, Pinkenba in Brisbane to the resort on Moreton Island. Departure times from Brisbane are 7.30am, 10am and 5pm Daily. An additional service operates at 12.30pm on Saturday/Sunday/Monday. The journey takes 75 minutes. The return Catamaran from Tangalooma departs at 9am,4pm & 7pm daily. An additional service operates at 2.00pm on Saturday/Sunday/Monday. Pre-booking is essential (see booking details below). Failure to contact Reservations to either reconfirm the seats we have held for you or hold any additional seats required may lead to disappointment if launch is booked out on the day of arrival. Holt Street wharf is situated approximately 1km downstream from the Gateway Bridge on the north bank of the Brisbane River. Pre-booking Launch and Transfer Coach: Launch prices are $70 per adult return, and $36 per child (3-14 years inclusive). Payment can be made on check in at the resort. When making your booking online, please enter your arrival requirements in the 'Guest Comments' field on the booking form. For example: '2 adults and 2 children on the 10am launch from Brisbane' or 'travelling on Vehicular Barge - launch transfers not required'. Please reconfirm your booking 24 hours prior to arrival, using the direct phone number supplied on your booking confirmation. Open seven days a week 8.30am-5pm. Driving to Our Wharf: From the City and Western Suburbs - Head along Kingsford Smith Drive, approximately 2km past the Gateway Motorway overpass, turn right into Holt Street and follow to the end. From the Gold Coast and South - Follow the Gateway Motorway then take the first exit over the Gateway Toll Bridge (City exit) to Kingsford Smith Drive. Turn right under the overpass, along Kingsford Smith Drive for approximately 2km then right into Holt Street and follow to the end. From the Sunshine Coast and North - Follow the Gateway Motorway then take the 'City' exit (First exit after the Airport Exit) to Kingsford Smith Drive. Turn right along Kingsford Smith Drive for approximately 1km then right into Holt Street and follow to the end. Taxi to Our Wharf: Our Holt Street Wharf is approximately 10 minutes from Brisbane Airport and approximately 15 minutes from the city centre. Brisbane Domestic and International Airport: The airport is approximately 10 minutes from our Holt Street Wharf. Transfer Coach from City to Our Wharf: Our transfer coach connects with the 10am launch daily as well as with the 9am or 4pm return launch from the island. It picks up guests from the Brisbane City Transit Centre and CBD hotels. Transfer Coach from Brisbane Domestic and International Airports to Our Wharf: Our transfer coach connects with the 10am & 5pm launch daily as well as with the 9am or 4pm return launch from the island. It picks up guests from the the Brisbane Domestic and International Airports. Please note that pre-booking is essential and a fee of $14.00 per adult and $8.00 per child applies each way. Holt Street Wharf has ample parking, the current charge is $12.00 per day, or part thereof, and $50.00 per week. The parking area is not under cover nor guaranteed secure, but is a locked-up and fenced area. |
