Marina Terraces is a small complex with a total of 17 One and Two Bedroom Apartments, including two Penthouses, therefore offering our guests a more personal and friendly environment for their tropical holiday. Marina Terraces is perfectly situated, only 250 metres to Four Mile Beach and 100 metres to Macrossan Street with its large variety of galleries, shops, restaurants and cafés. Because of our location, Marina Terraces is ideal for those who don't want the additional expense of hiring a car for the duration of their stay. The spacious apartments are fully self-contained, including fully-equipped kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. All have an open plan lounge/dining area leading to either a balcony or courtyard that overlooks the lush tropical gardens. The bedrooms are separate from the living area. Your private facilities include a washing machine and clothes dryer, iron and ironing board. All linen (sheets and towels, etc) is supplied and apartments are serviced on a weekly basis. Beach towels are available for hire from Reception. Austar (cable TV) is offered free to all apartments, in addition to DVD and CD Players. For those that are security conscious, an in-room safe is also provided free of charge. NOTE: any charges for rollaway bedding is payable direct to the hotel. Smoking is not permitted in any of the apartments, but is allowed outdoors. Resident Managers live on-site. |

By car from Cairns Airport (1 to 1½ hours): Leaving the airport, turn right onto Captain Cook Highway and head north following Mossman/Port Douglas signs for 80km. At approach to Port Douglas, turn right and follow Port Douglas Road for 7½km. Marina Terraces is situated on the right hand side, between Mowbray and Macrossan Streets. By bus from Cairns or Cairns Airport: Transfers can be arranged at an additional charge. You will be collected from your accommodation or met off your flight and brought straight to the door. |

| Things To Do |
Do as much or as little as you like, it’s your holiday, but make sure you take time to explore the natural wonders that surround Port Douglas. From enjoying the warm tropical waters by diving or snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, or perhaps a spot of fishing or a relaxing sail. Cape Tribulation is only an hour’s drive away so you can experience the beauty of the ancient Daintree Rainforest. Do a cruise on the Daintree River for a bout of crocodile spotting, experience the thrill of Jungle Surfing, take a guided rainforest walk, sample exotic fruit, and taste homemade ice cream. For the more adventurous, there's horse riding, white water rafting, helicopter flights, bungee jumping and hot air ballooning on offer in the area, or take a real trip on the wild side and visit the Cairns Wildlife Safari Reserve near Mareeba to check out the lions on African Night. For those with a hankering of activities of a more sedate nature, there’s Breakfast with the Birds or Lunch with the Lorikeets at the Rainforest Habitat, check out Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures. Why not take a lunch or sunset crocodile cruise on the Lady Douglas, a paddle boat that plies along the Port's inlet. Learn more about Port's history by visiting the Court House Museum, or following the Port Douglas Historical Society's self guided walk around town. You can also try a tour of the Mossman Mill to find out about the sugar cane industry or perhaps a guided Dreamtime Walk through Mossman Gorge with one of the Ku Ku Yalangi people to experience Aboriginal culture. Pack an esky with beer, wine and a few locally caught prawns and head to Rex Smeal Park to watch the boats returning from the Reef or experience a unique dinner in the Rainforest with Flames of the Forest. Have a go at celebrity spotting from one of the numerous restaurants or cafes along Macrossan and Wharf Street or the boardwalk dining on offer at the Marina. Catch a show at the Clink Theatre or at Diane's Cilento's famous Karnak Amphitheatre. If golf’s your game, there are three courses in close proximity – two in Port Douglas and one in Mossman. Or perhaps you'd prefer to be a spectator and watch the local AFL or Rugby teams play a game at the sports complex during the winter months. Pamper yourself with a relaxing massage, facial, or manicure at one of the many spas in town, or perhaps you’d prefer to just laze away your day with a good book on beautiful Four Mile Beach. Whatever your preference, your resident on-site hosts will go out of their way to make your holiday in Port a memorable one. |
