Four bed dorms for the backpackers, double rooms with views for couples, singles, twins and also a family room. Located only 45 minutes drive from Wellington. Restaurants and great cafes only two minutes walk away! *Ferry to Kapiti Island nature reserve & bird sanctuary leaves across the road from our hostel* Our hostel began life as a guesthouse in the 1920's and has been lovingly restored with beautiful oak furniture and has an ambient, old world feel. We are an active YHA & BBH backpackers hostel and have a Qualmark rating of three stars in the backpackers category. The Kapiti coast is becoming an increasingly loved destination for all types of holiday makers looking for good value and a relaxed pace of life. |

From Wellington by Car: Follow SH1 North to Papaparaumu (50 kms), look for signs to Paraparaumu Beach. Turn left at intersection onto Kapiti Road(there will be a BP station on your left).Follow Kapiti Road all the way to the end (3kms), turn left at roundabout onto Marine Parade. We are on your left straight after the roundabout. Arriving by Train: From Paraparaumu Train station, catch bus 71 or 72 (20 mins) to Paraparaumu beach. The driver will drop you off outside if you ask. Arriving by bus: From Paraparaumu Station, bus 71 or 72. 73&74 leave less frequently also. Taxi: Fare is approx $13 from Paraparaumu train station. |

Kapiti Island nature reserve is a wonderful native bird sanctuary. The island is home to some of NZ's rarest flora and fauna, including kiwis. Paraparaumu Golf course is of world class standards.
