Located 300m from the popular Cylinder Beach which is patrolled seven days, 300m from the famous Straddie hotel The Islander offers a wide variety of activities or a quiet relaxing holiday. North Stradbroke Island with it's unspoilt beaches and headlands are perfect for swimming, surfing and fishing all year round. Whales, Dolphins, Turtles and Manta Rays can often be spotted from the spectacular North Gorge at the tip of Point Lookout. The island has been listed as one if the world's most ecologically important wetlands and has several freshwater lakes, waterways and lagoons ideal for that getaway swim with friends. |

| Getting There |
From Brisbane Airport: Take either a taxi from the airport to Cleveland, or catch the Airtrain, which leaves the airport terminals every thirty minutes. It connects with the Cleveland train in the city. Travel time is approximately forty-five minutes by taxi and one and a half to two hours by train. From Brisbane: By the Cleveland train service which are met at the station in Cleveland by a shuttle bus that provides transfers to the water taxi (passenger ferry) at Toondah Harbour, located at the end of Middle Street, Cleveland. At Dunwich, take the Island bus, which meets each water taxi and provides transfers to The Islander at Point Lookout, 20 kilometres away. By Car: Take the Vehicular Ferry (Barge) which leave frequently from Toondah Harbour, located at the end of Middle Street, Cleveland. Bookings are essential and The Islander offers discounted fares. Roads on North Stradbroke Island are sealed. |
