HERITAGE - Built in 1886 and registered under the New Zealand Historic Places Trust, this magnificent 2-storey villa is one of Picton’s original colonial homesteads. Extensively restored in keeping with its gracious style and era, Sennen House offers guests a truly unique and authentic boutique accommodation experience. ENVIRONMENT – set in 5 acres of Queen Elizabeth II National Trust protected native forest and grounds, native birds and birdsong abound. A percentage of each guest stay is put into the ongoing work of regenerating the original beech forest with its unique and rich habitat. LOCATION – only a short 1km stroll to Picton’s restaurants, shops, ferries and foreshore we are ideally located to explore the stunning Marlborough region with its wineries, waterways, beautiful coastline, magnificent landscapes and famous Queen Charlotte Track. ACCOMMODATION Two elegant one bedroom apartments and three spacious suites, combine historic charm with every luxurious convenience, to offer privacy, peace and individual character, three having their own private lounge (two with open fire), and all having dining area, kitchen facilities, private entrance and ensuite. RELAX with a glass of local Marlborough wine on sunny, north-facing verandahs or private courtyard, accompanied only by the gentle bleat of our sheep, enjoy a leisurely al-fresco breakfast(generous continental hamper provided daily) with views across the grounds to Picton and the sea or hills beyond. INDULGE in the luxuries of pure cotton linen, elegance and comfort, listen to native bird song or simply absorb the timeless tranquil grandeur of Sennen House. HOSTS - Richard and Imogen are qualified Landscape Architects and originate from the UK, having travelled extensively both internationally and throughout New Zealand. They will happily share their knowledge of local history and activities, and passion for New Zealand, its native plants and environment. ARRIVING BY CAR: From ferry terminal – drive South down Auckland Street, turn RIGHT into The Broadway, crossing the railway line. At the school turn LEFT onto Kent Street and at the pedestrian crossing turn RIGHT into Durham Street and immediately LEFT into Oxford Street. The car park is directly in front of you. From the South – As you enter Picton take the THIRD LEFT turn into Kent Street. Turn LEFT into Buller Street (opposite the school). At the pedestrian crossing turn RIGHT into Durham Street and immediately LEFT into Oxford Street. The car park is directly in front of you. From Queen Charlotte Drive – Approaching Picton turn RIGHT at the mini-roundabout, south-bound onto Kent Street. At the pedestrian crossing turn RIGHT into Durham Street and immediately LEFT into Oxford Street. The car park is directly in front of you. From the ferry terminal, turn right into Oxford Street from Kent street, just past the primary school on your left. At the junction turn left, then immediately right and left again. Sennen House can be found at the end of Oxford Street. |

Boats leave daily from the waterfront. MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS boat cruises - choose from 1/2 or full day cruises, stop at a lodge for lunch or just sit back and RELAX DOLPHIN WATCH ECO-TOUR - discover the wildlife of the Marlborough Sounds, visit Motuara Island bird sanctuary and see New Zealand native birds and fur seals WINERY TOURS - indulge in a full or half day tour of Marlborough's world renowned wineries.
