The ENTIRELY NON-SMOKING cottage and grounds are ideal for couples wanting to stay in a themed authentic 1860's stone cottage, with absolute privacy, yet within walking distance of all the town centre has to offer. Surrounded by gum trees and the Bungala river at the edge of the property, the original blacksmiths cottage is a delight to the senses. The bedroom with Queen bed has wool carpet, stone walls and is furnished with antiques - you'd swear you are in a Tuscan villa. The large living room has a huge 'Ponderosa style' open stone fireplace for warm wood log fires in winter (wood provided), 50" plasma TV/DVD/Video/Surround Sound, beamed ceiling, stone walls and a private courtyard for sunny alfresco lunches on warmer days. There are two large screen televisions in all, one of which is in the Queen Bedroom and one in the living room and there are DVD players and a video player. There are two comfortable large sofas so both of you can stretch out and relax whilst viewing a complimentary DVD movie or video. The fully equipped eat in country gourmet kitchen has microwave, fridge, full gas oven and hotplates. Eat breakfast alfresco with the native birds or in the kitchen with views to the garden. Modern atrium style bathroom with deep bath, glass mosaic tiles, and separate shower, laundry facilities and second toilet. Huge outdoor cottage garden and sheltered sunny courtyard. For extra guests and the complete 'early settler's cottage experience' there is a cosy cottage bedroom (available only if booked in addition to the queen bedroom when 2 couples are staying), and this has an ANTIQUE brass and iron double bed complete with luxury bed linen. When 3 couples book the cottage a luxury bedroom with King bed is also available. Within walking distance are restaurants, pubs, supermarket, bottle shop, antique shops and famous churches. An idyllic country town cottage with luxurious touches. Fresh country air and the sounds of the kookaburras and black cockatoos singing each morning along with the resident shy blue wrens make this a beautiful part of the world to stay. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN. Up to 2 small dogs who are fully toilet trained are welcome costing a $25 surcharge per day. There is an appropriate dog door and secure yard. Dogs are expected to remain outdoors but can be brought in at night under their owners supervision. Appropriate immunisation and worming papers from vet need to be presented on arrival please. We realise a dog is an important part of many couple's lives and welcome well cared for small dogs. |

Wilderness, fishing, golf, great rural views, honeymoon, luxury, romantic getaway, whale watching, wine appreciation, cosy winter holiday, summer holiday near beach, arts and crafts. Restaurants and bakery nearby. Within a minutes flat easy walk is The Shrine of Our Lady of Yankalilla - On August 24 1994 an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared on the wall of the Anglican church in Yankalilla, about one hour's drive south of Adelaide. Since 1996 pilgrims have been coming to this church from all over the world. Yankalilla is the world's newest Marian Shrine. It is also the second known apparition of Mary in an Anglican church. The church has become almost as famous for an unusual series of events around the shrine as it is for the Apparition itself.
